About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things, and I love taking recipes and making them my own by adding or deleting ingrediants. One of my favorite things to make, which in my own recipe, is Shrimp Scampi. I love shellfish!
My favorite family cooking traditions
In my family, everything was made from scratch. I remember the first time I went to someone elses house and had boxed mashed potatoes....I never even knew they existed, and simply hated them.
My cooking triumphs
Shrimp Scampi, spaghetti sauce, baking christmas cookies and candies.
My cooking tragedies
Burning cookies when I was young. And then I got the hang of it.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken
I just made this and I'm eating it right now. Love the flavor! Although I almost burned the house down, LOL. I had the broiler on high and come back into the kitchen after just five minutes and there was smoke everywhere. Broil on LOW, or don't put the pan too close. At least I caught it when I did, and it didn't even burn. I might try this on other cuts of chicken or even steak. VERY GOOD! Thanks for the recipe!

Creamy Banana Bread
This is be best banana bread recipe I ever had. Thanks Pam!!! The cream cheese really makes a difference. I've made it twice now, and got rave reviews both times. The first time I made it I didn't change a thing. The pecans kept falling off the top of the slices, but it was still yummy. This time I did something slightly different. I make 1 loaf, 6 muffins and 24 mini muffins. I added half the batter to the loaf pan, and the muffin pans. The mini muffins just filled. I added 2 T. melted butter to the nut mixture so it would be a little moist. The mini muffins had the nuts on top but the muffins and loaf had the nuts in the middle. Turned out great! It's like a nice surprize inside. (Just like to photo is right now.)

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
I LOVED this recipe! It was Soooooo easy. I'd recommend trying this! The taste was wonderful, and it was about the easiest thing I've ever made! (And I love to cook! but sometimes just don't have a lot of time.) I don't know what the root beer did, but it was just GREAT! I will definately make it again and again!
