Chow Mein Noodle Cookie

These are good! I made the butterscotch kind with the peanuts and I made the chocolate/butterscotch kind with marshmallows. Both of them are really good and so easy! Definitely a keeper!

Magic Cookie Bars I

YUMMY! These are really good except I started with too much butter by accident and tried to double them but didn't have another can of sweetened condensed milk. I tried to use milk and sugar but they came out much more mushy than the others. They were all good though and I'd make them again!

Candy Cane Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
These are a lot of fun but I would add a little more peppermint. They don't have too much taste but they are so cute! I wasn't able to roll them in sugar and candy cane because they broke apart too easily. Maybe I made them too big??? I would make these again.

Caramel Candies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
I was optimistic in making these but was somewhat disappointed with the results. First of all, I had to dump my mixture into a large pan because a medium pan was way too small. The mixture would have boiled over. Second, it took FOREVER to get the mixture to heat up. I finally heated it up to 255 or so. When it cooled, it was hard as a ROCK! Definitely butter the 8X8 dish....it's needed. I couldn't cut the caramel so I put it in a bag and beat it with a hammer (I know that probably sounds funny). The little chunks it made were good but hard. I probably would not make this again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
These cookies are so good! I used butter instead of margarine. I also made a lemon frosting to go on top made of 2T butter, 2 oz. cream cheese, 2/3 C. powdered sugar and 1/4 t. lemon extract. I stored these in the fridge and gave out as many of these I could part with (which weren't many because I loved them so much).

Peppermint Bars

I loved these!!! They are so pretty and taste heavenly! I put 1/2 of the crushed candy cane into the batter. I am a peppermint lover and will make these again and again! They are my favorite thing I made this year!

Cream Cheese Candies

These are OK. Mine hardened up and then I dipped them in semi-sweet chocolate and put them in the freezer. They're good but not anything too spectacular.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
I cut back on the molasses as some people suggested and it still tasted like too much. It was pretty bitter even with the vanilla glaze that someone else suggested on it. I'd make this again and sweeten it a little more.

Butter Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
I bought a cookie press but couldn't get the darn thing to work so I rolled these out after adding lemon extract (which they definitely need). They were still a little bland and not sweet so I made a glaze out of 1C powdered sugar, 3/4 t. lemon extract, 2T butter and 2T of hot water. They were perfect then....very lemony but not too much.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts

I made the dough on a Friday but didn't have time to bake the cookies until Tuesday. The dough is so easy to work with and doesn't fall apart. I will use this recipe from now on.

Santa's Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2004
I LOVE the frosting this makes! If you're a peppermint lover, you will love this too! The cake was a little bit dry (I added a little bit more oil) but was still good. I got mixed reviews (some people didn't like peppermint). Otherwise I made it exactly as the directions state. YUMMY and so great for the holidays!

Fantasy Fudge in a Cloud

I made this for a family gathering. It was like a big mess in a bowl and is REALLY rich (and I have a big sweet tooth). My brother-in-law was the only one who wanted to take it home. I don't think I'd make it again...

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2004
These cookies ROCK! I used huge semi-sweet chocolate chips that made them even more chocolatey. The recipe makes a lot of cookies but I still added another half batch since they were so good! I received a ton of compliments on them.

Funeral Potatoes

The casserole is very soupy and was not a very big hit for Christmas lunch. The processed cheese spread overpowers the recipe. I would not serve this again.
