Texas Hash

I added Worcestershire sauce and garlic to the meat, but it just tasted too tomato-ey still, so I added a can of kidney beans, and served over tortilla chips, and then people liked it. Even my 2-year-old! But I think the chips made it, really.

Special Irish Beef Stew

Everyone raved about this except for the person who wasn't a big beer fan. So I guess the flavor of the beer comes out enough that it would bother a non-beer drinker. Otherwise, though, it was perfection!

Soft Pretzels with Mustard

I used Pillsbury pizza crust to make these (just sliced strips out of the rolled out crust), and they were SOOOOO good. I couldn't have been happier. Had a party and everyone loved them.

Chocolate Ribbon Bars

I made this for New Year's Eve and totally wasted all the ingredients used! I tried adding some marshmallow, per one other person's review, so I guess it's possible that messed it up, but the end result is the chocolate (which took about half an hour to spread, it was so hard) stayed intact while all the krispie mixture completely crumbled on both sides. A total bummer.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

This was great, though I too sauteed fresh minced garlic in butter before adding the spinach and artichoke, used light sour cream, and added cayenne pepper. It's just so much more tasty with a little kick. Everyone at my Bible study group loved it!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

This was so easy and tasty! I didn't have red potatoes, so I used regular russets, and I stir-fried chopped onions, garlic and a can of green beans in a pan before adding to the potatoes and sausage. If I'd read the other reviews and sprayed the foil first, it would've turned out perfectly. After 30 minutes on the grill, everything was the right consistency and flavor, but a lot of the sausages stuck to the foil and got burned. My fault, though.

Man, what a simple, yet totally perfect recipe! I made this for Mother's Day lunch, and everyone loved it. The meat's texture and taste was perfect. I love easy recipes like this, can't wait to make it again.

Quick Cassoulet

I also added the sauce from the tomatoes, some chicken broth, and some red pepper flakes, and it came out very well. If anything, I probably would've liked it even more had it been saltier. It was pretty good overall, though, served over rice.

Quick and Easy Goulash

I added Italian seasoning and garlic to this recipe, and it was great, but still just a little bit bland. Very easy and quick to make, though, and that's really important to me!
