I have been cooking since I was a very small girl. My grandmother taught me to make biscuits, and I remember sitting on a stool next to the counter watching her. I got the important job of cutting the biscuits. My Mom also let me start helping her when I was young. I would have the task of browning ground beef or stirring batter. I think teaching children about cooking and different foods is very important. I am an experimenter with all kinds of different foods, but have grown to love Latin foods. I am known as the salsa queen and the goddess of guacamole by my friends. I also love Italian foods. I love to bake birthday cakes for friends and family. I bake a Turtle Cake from this site and also do this chocolate raspberry cake that I get requests for all the time. I think there's nothing more special than sharing something homemade with someone on their special day. Whenever I create something new. I have an orzo pasta salad I need to write down and submit to the site. I love being creative and love to see something come from my mind and create something delicious. I cannot master my husband's grandmother's pound cake. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get it right. Hopefully soon I'll unlock that secret.
