Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
It was good, not great. I didn't have fresh basil so I left it out (suggestion of recipe submitter). I'll try it again with fresh basil to see how much of a difference that makes.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This is extremely easy to make. The breasts I used were frozen so I diced them up about 1/2 way through the cooking time. I followed the recipe using Healthy Request Cream of Chicken Soup and low-fat cream cheese instead of the full fat stuff. Hubby said it was good just like it is, I think it needs a little more seasoning.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
This is a definite 4.5 star recipe. I made it in two 8x8 dishes instead of a 9x13 since my family prefers fewer left-overs. I also made extra of the sauce and froze it to use for some stuffed shells and more lasagna. It's a keeper.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
After sitting in my recipe box for over a year, I finally made these! I did two things different: no cilantro (don't like it) and added just a little bit of cumin. The mixture was thicker then I expected but tasted really good. I will make these again and may add some chicken too.

Baked Potato

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Very good and easy. I needed to do 25 potatoes for a party so I scrubbed 'em, stabbed 'em, brushed them with melted butter, put on some sea salt, and wrapped individually in foil. Did convection baking at 350 for an hour and a half. Turned the oven to the "warm" setting and let them sit until the party started. Turned out great.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
This was very good and easy. I used a pre-made frozen pie crust and put in an extra cup of berries. Next time, I'll add an additional 1/4 C sugar to the berry mix to make it a little sweeter.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
This is a great recipe! The cake turns out moist and delicious! I made only two changes: (1) increased the cocoa powder to 1/2 C and (2) made it in a 9" round cake pan. It was done in 30 minutes. I didn't have to make any adjustments for the high altitude. One friend says this is her new favorite chocolate cake recipe....it's a keeper!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
These are good. I took other's advice and cut the butter back to 1.5 sticks. The bar is a little crumbly but not too much so. I will definitely make these again!

Balsamic Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
This is a very good and easy sauce. It reheats well too. For a fast meal, I make the "A Good Easy Garlic Chicken" in the pan first and then this sauce. I serve the chicken and sauce over whatever pasta I have on-hand. The only thing I do different is to 1/2 the chicken bouillon and leave the sauce on the burner while stirring in the parm. cheese. It's a definite keeper! *UPDATE* I've made this 3 times (w/the chicken) and each time it leaves me wanting to lick the bowl clean.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
I give this a 4.5! It's very good, fast, and easy. The only thing I will change next time is to reduce the seasoning salt (by at least 1/2). I served this with the "Balsamic Cream Sauce" over fettucine. A definite keeper!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
This was good, not great. I took the suggestions of setting the chicken on onions instead of foil balls and seasoned it with paprika, garlic, salt, and pepper. I'll use this recipe to cook a whole chicken that I want to use for casseroles and other dishes but not as a meal itself.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
Another AR'er recommended this recipe to me because I have a lot of potatoes to use. I followed the recipe as written. DH walked in the door, looked at them, put one in his mouth and said, "No more Lay's ever again!" A definite success. I also made some with salt and garlic powder on them. Thanks for the recipe!

I give this 3.5 stars. It wasn't bad, wasn't memorable. It definitely needs more seasoning.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
This is easy and yummy. I took the suggestions of using marinated artichoke hearts and 1/2 mayo, 1/2 sour cream. I made up the mix and let it sit for an hour before putting it on the chicken and in the oven. It gave the flavors a chance to develop. I'll make this again but will season the chicken before putting on the topping.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This was really good. I only left out the celery (personal preference) and made it in the crockpot instead of the oven. It practically melted in your mouth. I'll definitely make it again.

Cheesy Quinoa Pilaf with Spinach

This was ok. We couldn't taste the garlic, spinach, or cheese....just the quinoa. I'll try it again but with more garlic and cheese. It has potential.

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I loooooooooove this stuff. I don't think I'll ever buy frozen garlic bread again. Super Easy!! I used Rhodes brand frozen bread, let it thaw about 6-7 hours in the fridge. I don't have a bundt pan, so I used a 9" round cake pan. The directions didn't say what size to make the balls so I made them about the size of a walnut. The only thing I'll do different next time is to use less margarine (1/2 C at most) and to put a thin layer of it in the bottom of the pan.

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
We had this for breakfast this morning and it was very good. I didn't make the sauce of the butter/syrup, etc. because hubby is picky about how his french toast tastes. We will definitely make this again.
