About this Cook
I love this website. It has enabled me to go from a person that calls my sister for step by step instructions on how to make an omelet to a woman that can whip up an amazing dish just by feeling. P.S my sister now calls me for help with cooking =) I just ran my first Half marathon completing it with my husband of 9 months! I also summit ed Half Dome in Yosimite, California this year.
My favorite things to cook
Anything healthy. My fav is tofu smoothies! You cannot even believe how long I tricked my husband for. It was about 2 years before he knew Tofu was a key ingredient =)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Shepards pie, dumplings, and of course roast beef Sundays =) I am a Brit what can I say!
My cooking triumphs
Friends and family really enjoying what I cook. I love to have parties and cook for everyone!
My cooking tragedies
Crying because I didn't have a potato masher! Hubby ran out and got one so that I would feel better about my cooking techniques. Now I don't mind if something turns out wrong because it is live and learn

Baked Paprika-Parmesan Chicken
In the words of my husband "It has butter and cheese how wrong can it get?" It was very tasty. I cooked it in our cast iron skillet in the oven for 25 minutes (it was pounded very thin)

Shrimp Scampi Bake
Husband was away so I got to enjoy my seafood! This recipe was delicious!!! I even forgot the lemon juice and it was still great. Will make this again.

Blueberry Crumb Bars
OMG!!!! These are incredible! I substituted 2c of the white flour with 1c whole wheat and 1c Oatmeal. I also sub'd 1/2 the white sugar with half light brown. For the bottom layer I think the trick is to add a bit of water to the bottom mixture (along with Vanilla as per other review) to get a better consistency and avoid it being to crumbly. My Hubby loved it and I will take the rest to my sisters tonight and see how they like. Incredibly easy to make! I will be making these again for sure!!!
