When I was about 8 years old my mom's friends thought she was crazy to let me mess up the kitchen. It was a BIG kitchen! She told them it was not a problem as she also taught me how to clean up my messes! She's been gone almost 4 years now and I still think of her every day, but more so when I am in the kitchen. I love making soups, old family favorites, and lately I have been working on breads. Sunday dinner was one of 2 things - both I remember fondly.. 1. Pot Roast with lots of onions and carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy from the drippings. 2. Oven fried chicken with green beans from dad's garden, and mashed potatoes with cream gravy. The world's best hot fudge sauce. I try to forget them....
