German Rouladen
Im german as well , we always add a small piece of carrots in them . Which you can do specially for the people who dont like the pickels.Just substitute them with carrots. Also I do use beef broth and add some veggies to make a wonderful gravy.the veggies are being taken out before thickening the gravy but if you have a stick blender , you can just blend the veggies to and it will give the gravy another kick.
