Christmas Cookies in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I decided to make these before I gave the jar as gifts. The flavor is wonderful. The only thing that I did differently is, I softened the butter rather than melt it. Next year I will give the jars as gifts. P.S. The DH & DS went crazy for them. When the DH saw me with a cookie in my hand, he said, "Those cookies are mine."

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
The only change I made was to reduce the butter down to a 1/4 cup. I served it with roasted vegetables. They family enjoyed this meal. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Peanut Butter Cup Brownies

I made these for a Halloween party. They were a hit. I baked them in a mini muffin pan as others had suggested. I will make these again.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I am only giving this 4 stars, because I liked and my husband would prefer that I don't make it again. I thought it was easy and tasty. I used baby carrots cut in half instead of shredded carrots. Otherwise I followed the directions. This is a great meal for a busy day. Put it on in the morning, go do what you need to, and dinner is ready when you get home. I will be making this again.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Easy, quick, and good. This is my kind of recipe. I added mushrooms, red and orange peppers, and used 3 cups of various cheeses. I was pleased with how it looked and tasted. I will be making this again. Thanks for the recipe.

Cheese Ravioli with Three Pepper Topping

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
This was really good. I used fresh three cheese ravioli, 2 green, 1 whole red, 1 whole yellow peppers, and 1/2 large onion. I should have used the whole onion. Like someone else, I added a little crushed basil, and oregano. I will be making this again, it was a nice change to pasta with sauce.

Texas Beef Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I have been making this for a few years now. I can not believe that I never rated it. The only thing that I change is I use 1/2 of a bag of frozen veggies in place of the canned. I just don't like the taste of canned veggies. I get request for this soup all the time. I serve it with a fresh crusty bread. Thanks for this hearty recipe.

Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Very good. Extremely sweet. I used syrup made with splenda to reduce the sugar. Like the reviewer before me I like a little heat with my sweet. I added a few hot pepper flakes. I only added a pinch but I should have added more. Will try again.

Cucumber Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
A great salad to use up my summer bounty of tomatoes and cucumbers. I used white onion, otherwise followed the recipe. The whole family enjoyed this salad with our baby back ribs. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
The salsa is perfect. The marinade for the fish has too much oil. To cook the fish I lightly oiled foil, placed the fish added the seasonings, sealed and grilled. Served with the salsa. My husband and I loved it. Thanks for sharing.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I served this at a luncheon and it was met with delight. I used chicken that I grilled with a marinate of cranberry sauce and chili sauce (use equal parts of each). Other than that I followed the recipe. Also, I didn't make sandwiches, I served it on shredded Romaine lettuce with Black Bean and Corn Salad II. I received so many compliments for the luncheon! Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Apricot-Mustard Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
This is so easy, quick and delicious. I left off the salt, but otherwise made as written. I had a little of the sauce left over that I added honey to and heated. Poured over cut tenderloin. Everyone loved it. I will be making this again.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
Like some others I used ranch dip instead of dressing. I didn't realize I purchased the wrong thing. I used Frank's Sweet Hot Sauce. The only thing I would do differently is make more. There aren't any leftovers.

Black Bean And Corn Salad I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
I have made this twice in the last month. Once for a luncheon at my home, all the guest loved it and once for a 4th of July picnic. Everyone there that tried it loved it to. The hostess asked for the recipe. I halved the recipe both times. It makes a lot of salad.

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I am only giving this 4 stars because I made some changes and I am not sure that I liked the taste of the box cake mix. I replaced the butter with applesauce and the water with lemon juice. I used blackberry jam. I served this warm with a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream and topped it with fresh blueberries that I heated in the microwave. My guest raved over my fancy dessert. No one said anything but I thought the bar had a box mix taste to it. I will make again though because my guests thought it was great.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
This was easy and has a wonderful taste. It is almost thick enough to put on taco shells if you want to. When I took it to work for lunch, the aroma was so wonderful my co-workers all wanted to try it. I used Bill Echol's Taco Seasoning I for the spices. I don't like the sodium in packaged taco mix.

Individual Egg Bakes

Breakfast for dinner. Mmm good. Wanted breakfast for dinner, and this recipe fit the bill. I made some with bacon and some with ham, added Mexican cheese to the top. We liked the bacon ones better. I pre-cooked the bacon, and didn't have a problem with it being soggy like one other reviewer stated. Thanks for the recipe.

Grandma's Peach French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
Enjoy! I made a few changes, added an egg and some milk. Sprinkle the bread slices with cinnamon and then cube. Mix into egg milk, vanilla mixture, let sit while I prepare the brown sugar (used only 1/2 cup) and butter (1/4 cup). It is peach season, so I sliced fresh peaches. This is so delightful, you could serve it as dessert.
