Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
this is by far the best rotisserie chicken i have ever had, I have made this twice already!! The first time I stuck to the exact spice measurements and it was fantastic but just a little bit spicy for our tastes so this time I cut the white pepper and cayenne pepper to 1/4 tsp each and it came out perfect!! I only had 1 6-pound roaster and had to put it in the oven on my lunch break so I couldn't take it out at the 5 hours suggested so I knocked the temp down to 225 degrees and took it out when I got home from work after about 6 hours...boy does the slow-roasting make a difference! The meat was so tender and juicy, and what flavor...YUMMM!! my boyfriend is VERY picky and never gets too excited about meals but he actually called me at work to tell me how good it was the next day as leftover sandwiches! thanks for the fab recipe!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
My boyfriend decided he just had to have home-made apple pie this past weekend so I figured I'd try this one judging by how many excellent reviews this recipe got...and i was not disappointed! This is by far the best apple pie i have ever made! I followed others suggestions and added cinnamon and nutmeg, and also mixed the apples right in with the syrup instead of pouring on top, as i did not make a lattice top crust, and was afraid of the big mess i would most likely make. It turned out perfect! I sent some home to my dad last night and he actually called me this morning to tell me how fabulous it was, and he is not one to complement people on food... thats how I know this recipe is a keeper...thanks Grandma Ople!!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
This is the first time I have ever made homemade cinnamon rolls, and let me tell you , this was time-consuming...BUT SO WORTH IT!! I will never buy cinnamon rolls again, these are 100 times better than any cinnamon roll i have ever had! Not difficult to make, and so moist and delicious when they come out of the oven. I don't have a bread machine so i went with a reviewers suggestion and dissolved a 7g packet of active yeast with 1 cup of warm milk and 1/4 cup sugar. I then added the rest of the ingredients, leaving the flour for last, and kneaded the dough by hand. Left it in the warm oven that i had turned on to 200 degrees and shut off immediately after the dough went in. Added the butter and brown sugar/cinn mixture to the flattened dough, rolled it up the long way, cut them into 12 pieces and let them rise for about 25 minutes in a 9x13 baking dish. Popped them in the oven on 400 degrees for 15 minutes and they were perfect! The only change I made was that i realized i didn't have any cream cheese so i added about 3 tablespoons of milk to the icing ingredients and it was delicious! Next time will def make sure i have cream cheese in the fridge so it will be even better. Thanks for a fantastic recipe, I wish i could give this 10 stars!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
OMG this is the best banana bread i have ever had! It was so moist and flavorful, the banana taste just explodes in your mouth with the first bite... i did mash up my bananas as others suggested, rather than slicing them, and it only took about 45-50 minutes in the oven instead of the hour the recipe called for, thank goodness I checked it early because it was slightly darker than I would have liked. Other than those changes, this was an absolutely heavenly recipe, will definitely be making many times more!

Roast Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
i made these last night with a few tweaks:I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, I added about a tablespoon of minced garlic, the wet kind you get in the jar, not the powdered stuff, about 1 1/2 tbls of italian seasoning, and 1/2 tsp of ground thyme. I put the potatoes in a ziploc bag and then added all the ingredients and just shook it all up and poured the potatoes into a 9x13 baking dish that i had coated in fat-free cooking spray. Also had to cook them for about 35-40 minutes almost twice as long, as other reviewers sugg. They came out unbelievable! My boyfriend absolutely loved them and he is NOT a fan of roasted potatoes, but he raved all through dinner about how good they were! Thanks for the recipe!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
I can't say enough about how fabulous this recipe is ! They are creamy and rich and oh-so-yummy, my boyfriend hates onions but he couldn't even tell they were in there! I will DEFINITELY be making these again, and I think I will add some crumbled bacon to the top as suggested by other reviewers. Also, I parboiled the potatoes first as well, it definitely cut down the baking time, i only had to bake them in the oven for about 25-30 minutes and they were cooked perfectly. Thanks again for a wonderful recipe that we will enjoy many times !

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
This was very good. I think I may have used too much raspberry jam, because it was a little too sweet for my taste, but my boyfriend couldn't get enough of it! I will definitely make again but next time use a little less jam, and using another reviewers suggestion, add some butter at the very end. Overall a great recipe!

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2007
I have never liked meatloaf but my dad wanted meatloaf for supper , so I figured I would try this one because it actually sounded good, with the onions and green peppers. It came out fantastic, I actually added bacon to the top of the loaf before baking, and it gave it a wonderful flavor ! Very yummy, has changed my view of meatloaf!
