Hearty Split Pea Soup

This is a seriously good tasting soup...I used cream instead of milk. I used chicken broth, and added one more cup than the recipe called for, per other users suggestions. Try it..you won't be disappointed!

Fried Dill Pickles

Tasty! I followed the recipe exactly, the only change I made was to the method. I dipped in the egg mixture, then the flour, then back into the egg and then back into the flour and into the fryer. This makes a thick, crispy coating. Mix up some mayo (Hellmans) and fresh garlic and dip away!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Oh ya..this is awesome! Followed the recipe to a "T"..except I forgot the honey at the end lol Anyway, great taste and easy to make. I did as some had suggested and did not use a rolling pin. I started out that way, and ended up just putting it in the pan and stretching the dough and sealing perforations. Make this..you won't be disappointed!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Very tasty! Complimented the asparagus. I threw mine into a bbq basket lined with foil, drizzled some olive oil, bbq'd for about eight minutes, and poured the sauce right onto the asparagus in the basket. Was a hit. I used 1 tbsp soya sauce, 2 tbsp balsamic.

Frosted Banana Bars

Simple to make and quite tasty. I also was looking for something a little more "dense" and "bar" like, but I won't complain, because these were awesome! I frosted mine with a store bought cream cheese frosting that I mixed with cool whip. Nice and light, just like the bars :-)

Marshmallow Cake

This is SO good! My fiance' and I couldn't stop eating it! Nice "cheesecake" flavour, with a nice light texture. Recipe is easy to follow. The only thing I did different, as one person had suggested, was tempering the egg in some of the marshmallow mixture, and then adding it back to the marshmallow mixture in the pot. Turned out really good. Mine had set within an hour and a half. Definately worth ALL five stars :-)

Banana Crumb Muffins

An excellent recipe. Very light and moist. I did not put the topping on, and added one teaspoon of vanilla to the banana mixture, I also added oil as others had suggested, instead of the melted butter...they had a wonderful taste...and smelled amazing while they were baking! A keeper!

Poppy Seed Bundt Cake II

If you are looking for an extremely moist, dense too die for cake, this is it. I make mine with a lemon Duncan Hines cake mix (I tried Betty Crocker, but the end result seems a tad drier)and add one teaspoon of lemon extract. Very flavourful! Another variation is to use a Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix. When I do the chocolate version, I crush up SKOR bits into a sugary powder and use this instead of the sugar on the inside of the pan. Very good :-) Next time I make it with the skor bits though, I will combine the crushed skor with some sugar.

Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake II

As far as chocolate cake goes, this is pretty good. I doubled the amount of cocoa because I was looking for a chocolate fix and didn't want to be disappointed when I went to eat lol...it was very chocolatey! My only complaint is that I was looking for a really moist "dense" ALMOST brownie like cake..and this wasn't it. As far as choc cake goes though, it was great :-) So if anyone has a really really moist, dense chocolate cake recipe, let me know!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Pretty tasty. I was surprised actually because I couldn't see alot of ingredients that would give it flavour, but that is where the ham comes in! I made a few changes: added carrots with the veggies, and frozen corn fifteen minutes before serving, I also cooked the potatoes, onions and celery in chicken stock instead of water for a flavour boost... I will use this recipe again, next time I am going to throw in some clams! yumm...

Apple Crisp II

mmmm great recipe! I also cut down on the water I used. However, if I was to make it again, I would use brown sugar in the apple mix instead of white. The white is grainy. When I make apple pie I use brown sugar, I almost did when I made this, but I wanted to try the recipe the way it was. All in all..you won't go wrong with this recipe!

Classic Tiramisu

Easy to prepare, great tasting recipe! I didn't look very hard for ladyfingers, next time I definately will. I used "Nilla" wafers and they were ok, but they required alot of soaking. I used "starbucks" coffee liquer...gave it a great taste! I wouldn't change anything to this recipe..it is bang on..a hit with everyone in the family ;-)
