Stuffed Pepper Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
Made this for dinner tonight and it is wonderful. We enjoyed ours with some fresh sweet bread. The only changes I made were to use 1 15oz. can of diced tomatoes + 1 can of Rotel. I also used deer meat as I didn't have any ground beef. The recipe does make a HUGE pot of soup. Next time I will half the recipe. Though having a huge pot allowed me to freeze half for a quick dinner some night soon.

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
I found this hot dog sauce to be a good base for what I wanted. I only used half the sugar, which I will completely omit next time. I also added a bit of cumin and onion powder to taste.

Just had this and fell in love! (Used green and red grapes.) I will be making this for a quite a few gatherings this year. Thanks so much for the awesome recipe!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Did not care for these at all. No one in the family enjoyed them. I think the sauce is just too sweet.

Cheesy Potato Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I made this recipe last week for my family. I did change a few things though. I omitted the celery because hubby does not like it. I used a combination of Velveeta & cheddar instead of sliced American cheese. I used chicken broth instead of water and I used evaporated milk as opposed to the other. I added salt, black pepper and onion salt. I added chopped ham and bacon bits. The soup turned out great and my family of 4 (and one guest) ate it all up in just 2 days! Thanks for the great recipe!

Root Beer Float Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
The cake was ok but will follow the advice of others next time and use some root beer flavour as without it I couldn't even taste the root beer in the cake at all. Did not like the frosting at all. Next time I think I will just make my own frosting and add some root beer extract to that as well.

Chicken Stuff

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
Both hubby and I felt the recipe was lacking something, but it was good enough to eat and good enough to try again. Next time I will pour the cornbread mixture over the top and add some cooking time. Also, I will add some mixed veggies and some spices.

Chocolate Scotcheroos

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I give the recipe 4 stars. While I personally can't stand the things (I don't like butterscotch AT ALL & don't like PB flavoured sweets), I do often make them to take to gatherings and they're a hit with most everyone else... never any left, even when I make a double batch!

Chicken and Spinach Alfredo Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I felt it was more work than it was worth but my family enjoyed it. I think next time I will cut the sauce recipe in half, using left over chicken, and serve it over fettuccini or angelhair pasta with a fresh spinach salad on the side.

Roast Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
Not a fan of pork but I've been trying pork recipes and this is a good one! I did omit the salt because I felt with the soy sauce, it might have been too much for me. I will be making this again.

The Earl's Sandwich

While I don't like American cheese or Russian dressing, I thought the sandwich sounded a bit tasty. I used Colby cheese and Kraft Catalina dressing and loved it!

Ginger Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
I enjoyed this dish. Browned the meat and sauteed the onion, garlic, seasonings, etc. in the same pan. Transferred everything to my slow cooker then added the soup, tomatoes and water. I also added snow peas and bell pepper (red & yellow) because I felt it needed veggies. Cooked on high for several hours & served with rice noodles. Hubby said it was good enough to eat again. Good thing because daughter and I LOVED it! :)

Andy's Spicy Green Chile Pork

Spicy and yet still flavourful... this from a gal who doesn't usually like pork. This recipe is going into my regular rotation! :) Couldn't find Frontera's so I used Mrs. Renfro's green salsa.

The Best Bacon-Tomato Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
I thought the dip was only ok. I wound up altering it to my liking. I used probably twice as much (red) onion than suggested; also added some onion powder, salt & pepper as someone else suggested. With the changes, I give it 4 stars. A dash of liquid smoke doesn't hurt either. :)
