I make this recipe a lot when I don't have a lot of time to bake. Everytime I get compliments and requests for the recipe! I have been adding a little more vanilla, because I like it that way. Anywhere from 2 tsps to 1 Tbsp. They are even yummy the next day cold!

I have been making these for years and people always fall in love with them at first bite! I put a toothpick on each individual smokie, not several on one skeewer. This makes for easy selecting for your party goers. For all those that think this is time consuming and messy, please get out of the kitchen. This is the easiest recipe I know!

I have made this about 5 times now and we love it as well as all the neighbors at our Labor day party. I love this recipe because I have all the ingredients on hand. Who stocks their fridge with buttermilk? Not me, but we usually have sour cream! The icing is very thin and can run over the sides of the pan, so I now do it over my sink so the excess runs into the sink. It's a keeper!
