Perfect ending to a meal! They didn't even last so I could snap a quick photo! Next time I may have to double the recipe!

Quick Gnocchi

Awesome! Easy! It's something I always have the ingredients for on hand. I had never made this before so I was quite nervous actually, but it was nothing to worry about because it really is "quick" and easy!

Super-Simple, Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
This was good. I wouldn't call it "Super-spicy" though as the recipe is written. It needed a few extra red pepper flakes! This was great served over rice.

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
A little on the bland side for us I guess. I did add a can of diced tomatoes and a can of tomato sauce. I used ground sausage instead of ring sausage. I like all of the stuff together, I would just like to find a great sauce to top it off with!

Southwestern Roasted Corn Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This is worth a try! I had some limes and cilantro to use up and came accross this recipe. I served it as a side with steak (not really mexican but they worked VERY well together). I sauteed all of the vegies together so they were cooked then added the sauce to it. For the hot sauce, I used some stuff we got on a vacation in St. Lucia and it is VERY HOT! 1 tblsp made this a very hot dish! The sauce has a sweet, hot mustard taste and complimented this dish well.

Glazed Apple Cream Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This is a good pie. I usually make a different apple pie from this site and it's probably not fair that all other pies have to be compared to that one, but this one is a little different. I like the creamy filling in it and I like the glaze on the top of the crust. I think the next time I make this I will add in more cinnamon and some nutmeg and add some cinnamon to the glaze or skip the glaze and just do an egg wash with cinnamon and sugar. Very good pie though!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This recipe has just replaced the one I used to use. I loved this crust and the texture! It was so nice and flakey with a great taste. Next time I will cut back on the salt by 1/2tsp. I used this for an apple pie. It cooked great, I did cover the edges with foil as I always do to prevent burning. I used shortening that had been in the freezer (it doesn't freeze solid but it helps for that flakey crust) and ICE water. Perfect crust! Thank you!

Rotisserie Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
OHHH MY!!!!!! This was GREAT! This was the first time I have used the rotisserie on the grill. After reading reviews I placed a pan under the chicken with apple juice in it. I cooked it on low temp with 2 of the 3 burners for 2.5 hours. When I took it off the grill, I covered it in foil and towels to keep the heat in and grilled my vegies in foil for 20 mins. It worked great! It allowed the chicken to settle, but yet kept it hot. This chicken was SO moist and tender! I did have to fill the juice in the pan one more time during the whole process. Use a pan you don't care about or a disposable because the cooking will destroy the pan! I also used a seasoned salt in place of the regular salt. We WILL be making this more!

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
This would get 5 stars, but I had to change it up a bit. Just personal preference, our house prefers a creamier base rather than a broth base. I just use chicken breast halves cut up, and omit the water and chicken granules and replace it with 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 3 cans chicken broth, and 1 cup of milk. We use homemade egg noodles too! Such a simple recipe with grand taste!

Wonderful sinless dessert! I would love to try this in a larger size to feed more guests maybe using pound cake instead of the angel food, but this was perfect! I divided it into 4 wine glasses and it was just the perfect size and perfect ending to the evening meal!

Jalapeno Popper Wontons

Wonderful!! SO easy too! I used fresh japs (I only had three, but 4 would've been nice!) and followed the recipe as is. The sweet chili sauce is the greatest topper to them! I think these will be requested A LOT by my husband!

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
This is very good and very light. I could eat it plain or surely as a fruit dip! Next time I will leave out the vanilla extract as I feel the vanilla pudding is enough. This would be great leaving the milk out and substituting in a can (with juices) of crushed pineapple. I used this to frost "Whipped Cream Cake II" from this site. FYI: It is not as thick as a regular frosting!!

Whipped Cream Cake II

This is wonderful cake. I did not have any cake flour on hand so I used all purpose. ****Subtract 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour for every 1 cup of cake flour**** This cake turned out wonderful and moist! I made cupcakes with the recipe but next time I will use it as 2 8 in. round pans.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
Very easy, great taste. I did not have the time to let it marinade which was a mistake. The taste I am sure would have been even better if I had. I added a tablespoon of hot oil to the mix for some heat, but it was not enough. I will add some tabasco next time. I baked these almost all the way then threw them on the grill for the last bit.

Peach Beehives with Hard Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
I am not a fan of baked fruit ususally, but my guests loved these! They are very easy other than the wrapping could be a bit time consuming. I made a homemade pie crust which was probably a lot easier to work with beacause it would stick better. Keep a bit of water next to your working space to use it as glue on the crust. I brushed thses with egg whites and sprinkled them with sugar. When making the sauce, make sure your butter is soft or the sauce will be clumpy. The sauce was a great addition to these! I didn't dare try making the bee out of the crust....it would have been the funiest looking bee you ever saw!

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Yum! I served these up as an appetizer to a small corwd and they were gone within minutes! There may have even been a fight over the last one! I made the stuffing just as the recipe states, but I didn't fry them, I brushed them with oil and baked them. I also used the wonton wrappers instead of tortilla wraps. I served them up with "Baja Sauce" (recipe from this site) which made these perfect and irresistable in every way!

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
The crowd raved over these! I used about a pound and a half of burger to make 4 stuffed burgers. I cut the cream cheese WAY back to 4 oz and used 2 jalapenos and it worked great! I even had a little extra 'stuffing' to use. Next time I will use the extra stuff because I found that the cream cheese mix absorbs into the meat a bit during the cooking process but I still think the 4 oz will be enough for 4 burgers. I also seasoned the meat with garlic powder, pepper, worcestershire and onion powder.

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
FAB!!!! I used boneless pork chops and I browned them in a small amount of butter in a pan then simmered them in a white wine/chicken broth mix instead of grilling them. I also made an apple glaze with white wine and apple preserves and thickened it with some cornstarch. I love Gouda and I loved using with this recipe. Thank you! Very easy to make!
