Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
This was okay for a low calorie meal. I served it with cooked carrots. I upped the amount of garlic powder and will add even more the next time. I used chicken broth and white wine to simmer it in. It needs a little more 'pizazz' so next time I will add more spices or maybe some sweet chili sauce.

Curried Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
This would be good with some chicken added to it. Next time I will do that and also cut back on the butter. I used a fat free half and half since it was what I had on hand. That may have given a slightly less creamy texture. Nothing is better in the fat free version! lol! Next time I will also cut the amount of curry in half and use chicken stock instead of vegetable. Good recipe though!

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
Sweet and simple. I halved the recipe since I was only frosting one giant cookie and had MORE than plenty. It set well on the cookie and I will be using this again the next time I decorate cookies!

Sue's Taco Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
So easy! Taco anything is a great meal! I upped the amount of french dressing to 1/2 cup, and next time will add even more. I added black beans to the meat mixture and let it all simmer together for about an hour.

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
This is a good option when you are in a pinch or hurry. I think it would be better if it simmered a bit, but it works! I added some chopped tomatoes to it just to get a little extra nutrition into those kids!

EZ Pizza for Kids

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
Maybe a bias rating, but I must say this one is great. The kids LOVE to help make their own pizzas, and if they make it, they will eat it! I can sneak in some spinach in the meat and I add some chopped tomaotes to the pizza sauce. But this is a great one to be able to 'hide' some veggies in!

Dragon Dippers

Good. The texture is a little on the chewy side, not bad but more so than a regualr chip. The taste is good and they are easy to make.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Yep...love this one! This was SO simple! Gotta love slow cooker recipes! I love that you can just throw the chicken in and don't have to worry about baking or browning. Very tasty and very easy. I served it up with 'dragon dippers' from this site.

Perfect for my petit fours! Not too heavy of a taste, but just enough! I love the custard texture.

Brandy Simple Syrup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
I used amaretto instead of the brandy because I had an almond filling in my petit fours. It went very well! I did boil it all together also to reduce the alcohol since I was making them for a youngsters birthday.

Pumpkin Pie Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This is good, very sweet though! I have to say that I do prefer pumpkin pie, but I am glad I tried this. Our guests liked it! After half way through of preparing the cake, I realized I only had white cake mix on hand so that is what I used and it worked fine! I made half with the nuts and half without. It is better with the nuts...it gives it a nice crunch.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This has great taste and it is so simple to make. Since prime rib is a pretty expensive piece of meat, you don't really want to screw it up! I cooked it to 145 degrees, but as it sits, the temp still rose a bit to 150 which made it more like medium-medium well on the outside. My bad! I iwll know next time!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
These were a very dense roll. The taste was good, and our guests ate them up, but I guess I prefer a more light and fluffy dinner roll. I was worried about the amount of sugar in these, but they weren't too sweet. They would be good served with a cinnamon/sugar butter.

Bacon Roll Ups II

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
MMMMMMMM! So simple and so good! I love this because there is no measuring...you can make as many or as little as you like. Just be sure the cream cheese is soft and the bread isn't 'baked that day' fresh where it will tear when you spread the cream cheese on it!

Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
This is it! This is the 'butter cookie" tasting recipe I have been looking for! I was reading through the reviews and had noticed a few didn't think these were sweet enough, so I had tried to substitue a sugar cookie recipe molded into the fingers....It does NOT work! These aren't really a 'sugar' cookie, as mentioned before it is more like a butter cookie. They have great texture and taste. A bit time consuming to make the fingers, but they are grossly awesome! I made 'stiches' on the fingers with chocolate srpinkles. Very cute! I can't wait to do this recipe for christmas! (Not in the finger mold of course!)

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I love this soup! I made it as it is printed. I had some guests over to eat and I was reluctant to serve this fine dish since I had never made it before, but hey....a dish with butter and heavy cream....how can you go wrong? lol! Anyway, we served these in bread bowls (which I don't really advise doing since the bowl sops the soup up too quickly unlike a chicken noodle soup or a chunkier soup).

Easy Sugar Cookies

I love these! Very easy and great taste! They had a nice soft texture on the inside with a slight crunchy outter portion. It's nice to eat a sugar cookie and not go through all the work every time to cut out and decorate!

Perfect Berry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I really liked these, but my husband did not as much. He didn't care much for the biscuit/shortcake part. I think he would've prefered a pound cake type base. I made them with fresh berries.
