Once, when I was about 2 or 3 years old, my mom was sick with the stomach flu. I decided to make her lunch. I microwaved a hot dog for her, and put it on a tray with some crackers. Needless to say, she couldn't stomach that meal. I've been working to master the kitchen ever since Everything!! As a member of a chinese-american household, I never found it odd that thanksgiving at grandma's house always included fried rice and chow mein, until I asked my teacher in the 6th grade why they didn't serve chow mein. Boy, did she give me a funny look!! I tend to make up my recipes as I go. Sometimes I follow a recipe, but usually, I like to wing it. The cheesecake. I was on the phone with my mom and completely forgot that it was in the oven. My hubby was not so enthusiastic about eating it.
