Whole Egg Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
OMG I never thought hommade mayonnaise could taste this good! I used cider vinegar and prepared dijon mustard ONLY BECAUSE THATS WHAT I HAD ON HAND and desperately needed mayo on a Sunday afternoon in France where everything's closed. I made half the recipe thinking it would still be too much. Huge mistake, I didn't even get a chance to take a picture because it was gone in that one sitting. Even I ate and I tend to go easy on mayo. Thank you for this wonderful recipe, no more store bought for me. It's our family mayo from now on. Next time I'll follow the original recipe and take a picture!!!!!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
Absolutely perfect! Followed what other reviewers posted (beat sugar and cheese and proceed by hand, water bath, grease sides of pan, add cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg to the crust and let it sit in the oven for 5hrs before transferring it to the fridge. I made a hommade raspberry coulis because I had them on hand and didn't want them to go to waste! Drop-dead delicous!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipe I'm an ex pat and wouldn't be able to buy this here even if my life depended on it!!

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I added a splash of vanilla and sub the cup of sugar for 1/3C each, white sugar, confectioners sugar and brown sugar. Very rich and chewy cookie, not grainy at all! Kids loved them. Thanks for the tip!!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
Thank you "shirleyo" for this great recipe. My kids loved this cake. I live in France and am always happy to make my kids food from my childhood from scratch, frosting, for example, doesn't even exist here so I always make it from scratch.

Salsa II

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I loved this recipe!!! It tastes so fresh and "natural", not like all the dips you find at the supermarket full of conservatives and preservatives. The only thing I added was a can of tomato paste to make my sauce a deep red. It's hard to get a really red sauce just with tomatoes, it's always pale.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Absolutey delicious!!!! Finally a frosting that doesn't give you the impression that you're eating sugar with a spoon! I followed the tips others reviewers gave (placing bowl, beaters and cream in freezer to chill) and got the most amazing frosting ever! if you follow the instructions and tips you'll get a perfect frosting that won't overpower your cake. You can frost a million things with this. Oh, one more thing, once I'd frosted my cake I had no choice but to place plastic wrap over it to place in the fridge and I was a bit sad to have to 'lose' some of this delicious frosting to the plastic wrap afterwards....BUT when I uncovered it later to eat more, it didn't stick to the wrap! Amazing! So we were able to eat ALL of the frosting. Definitely makes a lot of it! Thanks for this fabulous recipe!!!!!

Blue Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
Perfect blue cheese dip, really. I made two mistakes (ENTIRELY MY FAULT NOT THE RECIPES). I upped the blue cheese and still added salt. Very stupid because it turned out way too salty. Made it again without adding salt and it was wonderful (I added more cheese due to personal taste)and I added a bit less mayo. Excellent, highly recommended even if you're on a diet, hahahaha!

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
Wow! I made this recipe after reading the reviews and did as was told (used 2 eggs instead of 3, omitted the baking powder and used 3/4 cups cocoa insted of only half). They are the best! Crunchy on the outside with soft and chewy centers. Definitely worth trying! My French husband asks for them ALL the time. Thanks for the recipie!

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
Definitely the best sloppy joe recipe I've ever had. I live in Europe now and the kids love it. As someone else said, use the entire can of tomato soup even if you only make half. It's a bit difficult for me to get my hands on tomato soup here so I use either a can of tomato paste or a can of diced tomatoes with sauce. The only thing you might want to do is use brown sugar according to your personal taste, but we like it kind of sweet. Thanks for this great recipe!
