About this Cook
I am a lady who has four grown children, so i do not have to have huge meals anymore on the table everyday. I am glad for all the years I did that, but am enjoying the less work and not making so much food. My husband is great about eating whatever I fix so I am blessed.
My favorite things to cook
To be honest I would say it is bread. I do enjoy creating a good loaf of homemade bread. People seem to love it no matter what time a day it comes out of the oven. I like to bake cookies also, because everyone seems to love to eat them. I live in Brazil and the people come and I like to serve a batch of home made cookies and they do enjoy them so much. I have began eating more salads with new things included in them. Brazil has many different types of salads and I am trying out new things all the time. Maybe by the time I am really old, I will learn how to be a good cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom made the best apple pie in the world. She also made green beans that were excellent to eat. She over cooked them, but they were so good. Our family had no traditions that I can remember.
My cooking triumphs
Baking a beautiful Chiffon cake is a thrill to those who eat it and those who see it. My cakes usually are not so beautiful but they usually taste good. My bread always comes out good also.
My cooking tragedies
One of my first pies/ I forgot to put in any lard. That was about 55 years ago, but I tried to make a berry pie and the crust was so tough I could not cut it open. I had forgotten to add the lard. :(
