About this Cook
I'm a Messianic Jew (believe Yeshua [Jesus] is the Messiah promised by God) who loves celebrating both sets of holidays. I'm a wife of a retired military man who loves meat and potatoes. I'm the mom of two beautiful girls the doctors told me I might never have. We have two lovable dogs. I suffer from an autoimmune disorder combined with osteoarthritis and food allergies, so I'm constantly on the look out for foods that will not aggravate these conditions and may actually improve them.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake bread, breakfast foods, and desserts. I also enjoy cooking anything for which my family requests seconds or an encore preparation for another day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies and fudge for Christmas, brisket and latkes (potato pancakes) for Chanukah, haroset (apples cooked with wine and cinnamon) for Passover, hard-boiled eggs for Easter, tuna casserole for comfort, hot chocolate, rice pudding or bread pudding on cold nights, four alarm chili and corn muffins (even if I can't partake) for cook-offs or crowds of company.

Caramels
Finally! A caramel recipe that doesn't require corn syrup. Those of us with corn allergies salute you!
