About this Cook
I love trying out new receipes or stuff that I just throw together because it sounds good.
My favorite things to cook
Oven barbequed chicken,Aparagus, and mexican corn bread
My favorite family cooking traditions
On the major holidays we have a traditional dinner that I start cooking at 11:00a.m in the morning
My cooking triumphs
Teaching myself how to make bread. Had a few failures and finally figured out how not to kill the yeast in the bread. Use cold water. It will still rise. And learning how to just trust myself and try new things.
My cooking tragedies
My first 5 loaves of bread. A totally flat bread.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup
This recipe is very tasty!!! I deleted the butter and the sherry totally and added about 1 1/2 tsp. granulated garlic and I did carmelize the onions. I didn't have beef broth so I put 42 ounces of water to 5 beef bouillion cubes in a pot and boiled it so the bouillion would combine with the water. Then I added the camelized onions to the broth and brought back to a boil and served. Very Good will use often Thanks for the recipe!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread
I LOVE this receipe! I tried a different but just didn't turn out quite like this one. I use the bread for pizza dough and my family just loves it. When I make the bread it is moist and has a good flavor to it. It doesn't crumble like other breads that I have made. This is a god bread for slicing. I also made cinnamon bread from it by putting a mixture of butter cinnamon and sugar and rolling it and placing it in the bread pan. With a powered sugar icing it was very good. Thanks for the receipe.
