Ty's Barbequed Chicken
Cajun Baked Catfish
About this Cook
I'm a work from home mother, wife and grandmother. Cooking has always been fun and exciting for me. I love to golf but would probably rather be in the kitchen trying a new recipe or coming up with my own concoction. We don't eat out that much because I would rather cook it myself. I decorate cakes, but not to sell, just for family and friends. To much mess to clean up.
My favorite things to cook
I love all different kinds of foods (if they are prepared right). My favorite is Italian.I have been an avid cook for over 30 years and prepare all different kinds of foods, from down home comfort foods to gourmet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family really doesn't have a lot of traditions. We are very spontaneous people who like to mix things up a bit.
My cooking triumphs
I recently won the grand prize( a dining room set)for my Mexican Stuffed peppers. My picture and bio were printed in our newspaper along with the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
When I first got married we had my husband boss and his family over for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was beautiful , but as my husband was carving it(at the table mind you) he pulled out a bag of innards!! The turkey had 2 bags inside!! I wanted to crawl under the table but everyone else had a good laugh and enjoyed the dinner.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread
I have never had soda bread before and this was a great surprise. I don't know how I did'nt see sugar in the recipe but I did'nt and so mine did'nt have any sugar!!It tasted like a giant moist buttermilk biscuit. I'm glad I did'nt add sugar . It was delicous with corned beef and cabbage. It makes wonderful toast the next day,

Raspberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake
This is a pretty cake. Make sure and don't overbake it. It was a lot of work and a lot of clean up but would be worth it for a special occasion. My only problem was with the cream cheese filling. I thought it could be sweeter and needed a little vanilla.
