Cilantro Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I love most cucumber salads and I could almost eat cilantro in a bowl by itself but I did not like this recipe. Too bland. I tried to jazz it by adding a splash of white vinegar, but that didn't help.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I really liked this recipe. However, I almost messed it up. I grabbed lemon pepper instead of garlic pepper and didn't notice until I put it in the over. I sprinkled some garlic powder over the top and was really worried that I had ruined dinner, but knowing that artichoke and lemon go well, I went ahead with the altered recipe. I also made it with half mayo, half sour cream. It was 5 star delicious! I'm going to make as per the recipe next time, though I can't image it could have been any better. Served with rice. Very fast and easy to pull together and looks elegant and tastes so good.

Easy Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
I didn't know hummus was so easy to make. My husband and both loved this recipe and I can't wait to try variations of it. I did add some EVOO and an extra garlic clove and it was way better than store bought.

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I am a sour cream freak, so any recipe that includes sour cream will catch my eye. This recipe is very good and easy to make. I had thinner chops than what was listed, so I simmered them for 30 minutes, plus I was really hungry and couldn't wait. I can't imagine that it could be any better, but will follow the recipe next time just to see if it's even possible. I would call this comfort food and can't wait to make it again. Yummy!

Asparagus with Sliced Almonds and Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I was looking for a new way to cook asparagus so I gave this recipe a try. I'm so glad I did because it's awesome! We ate it all that night, so when we fixed our pork chop left overs the next night, I tried the same recipe with green beans instead of asparagus and that was just as yummy! This is a keeper.

Baked Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I really liked this recipe even though the ingredients don't sound very appetizing. My husband thought it was too sweet and didn't really care for it. It only takes a few minutes to put together.

Gina's Lemon Pepper Chicken

Super quick and easy! Not as lemon-flavored as some other lemon chicken recipes, but the onion and garlic powder give it great flavor.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
I didn't know about brining until last year and will use this recipe from now on. The turkey was really moist and had great flavor. I couldn't find baking bags large enough or sturdy enough to hold the turkey and brine, so I used a trash bag. Also didn't have room in the fridge so used our travel cooler which doubles a mini fridge and marinated for two days.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
I've made this twice in the last week. The first time I was impatient and only put the beaded wings in the fridge for 40 minutes. After reading the other reviews, I made sure to let them set the full 90 minutes, so that they could get sticky. They were awesome both times, but they were the best when I let them set the full 90. I used Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce and doubled the amount of cayenne pepper because we like them hot. I made a much bigger batch of the breaded wings the second time so I ended up testing out another sauce of 1/4 cup Bill Johnson's Hot & Spicy Barbeque sauce with 2 tbls. honey for 6 wings and those were really good too.

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
I had a tenderloin, so I tried the suggestion of one of the other reviewers and butterflied it, pounded it out, then stuffed it with the filling. I baked it at 400 degrees for 45 min. Served with plain white rice. My husband loved it and so did I.

Pecan Dijon Chicken

So good and so easy! I made it exactly as the recipe, even though some reviewer comments said they thought it was a little too sweet or too orange, but I really liked the interesting flavor. My husband also loved it and said it was 5 star. I served with plain white rice.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
This is the best Kung Pao recipe I've ever tried. I like my food spicy and some comments said it was a little bland, so I added about an 1/8th teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the marinade. I used rice wine and Sesme oil. My husband said it was the best he's ever had.

Abby's Chicken Rollatini

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
I was bothered by the amount of oil on the bottom of the dish. I didn't like it as much as my husband did. He loves Cordon Bleu, so I made it for his taste. It was too heavy and oily for me.

Chile Verde II

This is one of my favorite items at a local Mexican restaurant, so I though I'd try to make it. This was waaay better! My husband gave it 5 stars, too. I cut the servings back to 8 and added a little flour to thicken it up. This one's a keeper for sure!
