About this Cook
Until I got married at the age of 33, I couldn't make instant potatoes. I used to be a very picky eater, too. My husband likes to cook and inspired me to try a few things and now, I feel I missed my calling. I love cooking and with very few exceptions, I love everything I make.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom is a great cook. I remember every holiday was celebrated at our house and everyone raved about Mom's meals. Family from both sides would come visit from all over the country. I'm not sure if it was the Phoenix weather or Mom's cooking that brought them in every year. My husband and I have started having the holiday dinners at our house and I use my Mom's (which was my Grandmother's) stuffing recipe.

Cilantro Cucumber Salad
I love most cucumber salads and I could almost eat cilantro in a bowl by itself but I did not like this recipe. Too bland. I tried to jazz it by adding a splash of white vinegar, but that didn't help.

Artichoke Chicken
I really liked this recipe. However, I almost messed it up. I grabbed lemon pepper instead of garlic pepper and didn't notice until I put it in the over. I sprinkled some garlic powder over the top and was really worried that I had ruined dinner, but knowing that artichoke and lemon go well, I went ahead with the altered recipe. I also made it with half mayo, half sour cream. It was 5 star delicious! I'm going to make as per the recipe next time, though I can't image it could have been any better. Served with rice. Very fast and easy to pull together and looks elegant and tastes so good.

Easy Red Pepper Hummus
I didn't know hummus was so easy to make. My husband and both loved this recipe and I can't wait to try variations of it. I did add some EVOO and an extra garlic clove and it was way better than store bought.
