Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
Wonderful, although I changed it a bit. I used scraps from a beef tenderloin so I cooked the filet briefly, then removed it from the pan until the finish. Also, I used fresh mushrooms and just added them when the onions were added. The whole dish was done from start to finish in about 12 minutes. Yummy!

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Super delicious! The curry is not strong, so if you love curry, you can definitely add more. I made a nice presentation by buttering one side of the triangle of a completed sandwich and than dipping it in toasted sesame seeds. The seeds added a nice flavor and texture.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
Delicious! If you want more "bite" just use freshly ground pepper and a fair amount and be sure you are using good extra sharp cheddar. It is easy to put together ahead and bake later for dinner. I will make it again and again.

I did not have white wine, so substituted chichen broth and added capers. It was delicious!

Garlicky Green Beans with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
I changed it up because I did not have all of the ingredients available. I did not use mushrooms, added diced onions and some leftover marinated tomatoes. Yummy!

Dijon Vinaigrette

The proportion of vinegar to oil is way too great. We finished it by mixing it about half with olive oil.

I like Brussell sprouts and found this dish nearly inedible. Perhaps I goofed in the making of them...

Aioli (Garlic Mayonnaise)

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
I found this recipe easy to make in my blender the first time. The second time I used a different blender and tried two batches--to no avail. So...I took about 1 cup of canola mayonnaise, whipped in about 1/4 c. or less of olive oil, added two minced garlic cloves, a splash of lemon and some pepper. Not as fabulous as the homemade on my first try, but a fine substitute.
