I'm a house-wife (a rare thing in this day and age) and a mother. I try to make meals that will be popular with my ground-beef-and-potatoes husband and picky three-year old daughter.
My favorite things to cook
Actually I have favorite things to eat rather than favorite things to cook! :)
I finally mastered fried chicken, thanks mainly to the tips on the Crispy Fried Chicken recipe on this site. Oh, and I love cheese dishes. I'm suprized no one has made a favorite cheese meals list yet. Maybe I'll do it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother is an excellent cook. (I still drool over her 7-up Cake.) My mother is a wonderful and loving woman but does not like to cook as much as I do. (She makes a very tasty chili, though) Most of the cooking I learned I taught myself. The Allrecipes website is a great help!
My cooking triumphs
Well, as I stated earlier I finally, after years of struggle, mastered fried chicken due mostly to the tips on The Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe by Elaine O'Neill. Thanks Elaine!
My cooking tragedies
I did finally learn to make delicious fried chicken but it took me a couple of years to learn. The first time I tried to make fried chicken I burned it up so badly that the fire alarm went on. Also grease splashed everywhere permantly staining some dvd jackets I own. (None of my dvds were damaged, thankfully.)
