I am 23 years old and LOVE to cook!!! Recently I got diagnosed with cancer and so currently I'm unable to work, so I have a lot of free time on my hands....this is awesome though only because it has allowed me to figure out things that I really enjoy in life. Spending time with my loved ones, and cooking!!!! This is my first time living on my own, away from my family, and so I love cooking and having a nice meal prepared for my boyfriend when he comes home from a long days work! He always says..."we eat good" and I love that! Especially since he does soo much for me! I just feel blessed by all of the people in my life, and cooking is not only something that I greatly enjoy but is kind of a way for me to give back to them...if that makes any sense at all?
My favorite things to cook
Lately I have just truly enjoyed trying out a bunch of new things and seeing what I we like. Some of our favorites to cook and eat are steaks, chicken, anything Italian...we love garlic, parmesan....my boyfriend loves bbq stuff and lately, I've been kind of experimenting w/Asian food. Its funny because I'm Asian myself, but was adopted. So it's a whole new thing for me!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unfortunately, I dont have any family cooking traditions! :*( My mother doesnt really enjoy cooking like I do (we always had frozen things) and my all of my family lives quite a ways away in other states, so I hardly ever get to see them. I do have a recipe for some bbq meatballs my great grandma makes that we really enjoy!
My cooking triumphs
Basically a cooking triumph to me is anything that I make that either my family or my boyfriend love. Just to know that I cooked them a good meal that they absolutely enjoy makes me feel amazing and is a huge accomplishment in my book!
My cooking tragedies
Um, yes, I've definitely had my share of cooking tragedies......but I'm still learning!!!
