Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was wonderful! I did not use canned gravy. I had some homemade gravy in the freezer from the last time we smoked a turkey. It really flavored the turkey. I will definitely be making this again.

Meatball Grinders with a Yummy Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I tried this recipe because I had some frozen meatballs that I had to use up. I used spaghetti sauce because my store did not have pizza sauce. I used jalapeno jelly because I had an open jar in the fridge and others recommended it. I didn't measure it. I just kept adding until I had enough. I would guess around 4 oz. It tasted great! Maybe I shouldn't review this recipe since I changed it so much, but this recipe gave me the starting point. I will definitely make again. Thanks!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
Wow, these were delicious! I, also put onions and mushrooms on the kabobs. I did not add any salt. I think the marinade would be a good veggie dip, too. Unfortunately, they were just ok as leftovers. Next time, I'll make them when my husband is home and there won't be any leftovers!

Famous Butter Chicken

This is a good recipe. I did only use a 1/2 stick of butter. Next time, I may add more spices to the cracker mix.

Oriental Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
These were great. I used 1/2 inch thick bone-in pork chops and I marinated them almost 24 hours. I had great grill marks on the chops. Too bad I didn't have my camera.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I had some asparagus that needed to be used, so I thought I would try this recipe. I used seasoned salt and added mushrooms. I, also, used whole wheat penne. It was great! I can't wait until I get more asparagus at the farmer's market to make this again. I may try adding spinach and peas next time.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
This recipe was great! I didn't know how big my roast was, so I left the oven on for 30 minutes. It was just slightly pink. I used a steak seasoning I had in my spice cupboard, instead of salt and pepper. I used a chuck roast, so it was a little tough, but the flavor was great. I'll be sure to use eye of round next time. I made a sandwich for lunch today. I added swiss cheese and horsradish sauce. Yum!

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I used this with chicken. I used Country Bob's sauce because that is what I had on hand and I love that stuff. It made so much marinade I used 2 packages of chicken. I brought leftovers for lunch today. While I was eating it, a person came over to my desk to see what I was eating. He said everyone was drooling from the smell. I want to try it with steak next time. It was great.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

I didn't have fresh parsley, so I had to use dried. These were very good. I had another one for lunch the next day. I will make again after I grow some parsley.

Sauteed Cherry Tomatoes with Garlic and Basil

These were great! I didn't have fresh basil, so I used dried. I can't wait to make it again this summer with straight from the garden tomatoes and fresh basil.

Souper Skillet Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
This is a great weeknight recipe. It is quick and easy. I used garlic mushroom soup mix, because I didn't have any onion soup mix. Next time, I will use the onion soup. I added some dry minced onions. I, also, used chopped canned tomatoes to save a step. The leftovers were great for lunch, too. Thanks for the recipe.

Herb Roasted Pork

This was great. I did double the rub. The roast came out very moist and tender. I made a sandwich for lunch the next day. Yum! I may try using balsamic vinegar next time.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe. I used panko bread crumbs and I didn't add the salt. I did have some problem with the bread crumb mixture sticking. I think I need to shred the cheeses finer. Next time I will pound the chicken breasts to make them all the same thickness.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe. Like a previous reviewer, I did not roll the enchiladas, but I layered the ingredients in a 9x13 pan, like a lasagna. I combined the meat and chees mixtures. I used flour tortillas and I did not add the salt. I would like to try rolling them, but this is so much easier and still tastes great.

Department Store Onion Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
I have always loved this recipe. I got it out of the paper a long time ago. My recipe is a little different though. It does not have paprika and it calls for 3/4 cup of flour. It also says to make it one day and let it sit in the fridge overnight and heat it the next day. The last time I made it, I was hungry so I had some after simmering for about an hour. Don't do that! It was really missing something. I had another bowl the next day for lunch after letting it finish cooking. It was great as usual.

This is a great week night meal. It was quick, easy and tastes very good. I did change the recipe a bit. I used some parmesan herb panko bread crumbs that I needed to use. I,also used chicken tenders, instead of chicken breasts.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I've been craving pot pie for over a month and I finally made one last night. I used this recipe as a base and then changed it because of what I had on hand. I used leftover smoked turkey and turkey broth that I had made from the carcass. I added potatoes and corn. I, also added garlic powder and sage. I didn't really measure, so I had a lot of filling leftover. I'm going to freeze it and make another smaller one. It turned out great. I think it tasted even better today for lunch! Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I've made this before, but have never reviewed it. We both think this is great. I use reduced sodium beef broth, onion powder instead of onion salt, and 2 pkgs of salad dressing. I put pickled jalapenos on mine for a sweet and hjot kick. Yum!
