Sandy's Summer Sausage

This recipe is absolutely AWESOME!! My husband is a hunter and unfortunately I'm not fond of anything that has a hint of "gamey" flavor. I'm always looking for a new way to disguise deer meat but I've found that with many recipes I still can't "fool" myself. Not so with this one! The only substitution I made was deer meat for the ground. It came out perfect and I agree with other reviews, it has WAY more flavor than the store bought. This will go in my permanent recipe collection. Definitely a keeper! We can't wait to see what happens when we add jalapenos and cheese!

Catfish Cakes

I really wanted to love these but they weren't as good as we were anticipating. This was not a bad recipe but it had a little too much of a bread taste for us. I'll definitely keep this but tweak it to better suit our taste. It needs a little something but I haven't been able to put my finger on what that is yet.

Garlic Lover's Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine

I was kinda skeptical about making this because the reviews varied from one extreme to the other. I was very pleased with the way this turned out. I used the dough cycle and kept an eye on it until I thought it looked right. I used exact ingredients with the exception of the garlic and had no problems with sticky dough. When I started making this, I thought I had the fresh but turns out, I didn't! I used a teaspoon of garlic powder and I thought it tasted just fine. I bet it is awesome with the real deal! I used no toppings as we were going to use this for bread sticks. It rolled out nice and I dusted my baking stone with cornmeal. While it was cooking the dough rose kinda wonky but I'm sure with more practice I can figure that out! This tastes great for as easy as it is!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Everyone loved it! I baked mine in the spring form as directed. I couldn't find a large enough pan so I didn't use a water bath and I was also pressed for time so I was only able to let it sit in the oven for 30 minutes. Amazingly, it came out PERFECT. This has got to be the easiest, best tasting cheesecake I have ever had!!!

Banana Cake VI

I make sweets for our management "clique" at work and I'm always probing them for new ideas/combinations/suggestions. Part of the reason I made this was b/c someone wanted me to come up with a banana cake with peanut butter frosting. I wasn't really impressed with the flavor of this cake but it didn't last an hour around my coworker's who thought it was awesome. I did top it with the fluffy peanut butter frosting from this site. I have to say, it was very different! Honestly, I've never had banana cake or the combination of banana/peanut butter so the only thing I have to compare it to is my banana bread. Just wasn't as good. 4 stars since everyone else liked it though!

The sauce is out of this world! Tasted great on the fish but there are soooo many other options! I was really surprised by the taste and I'm already thinking about what else I can put it on!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

These are awesome! I hosted a huge baby shower and made about a hundred. Following the advice of many others, I split the biscuits in halves using my thumbs. I also rolled the biscuits out a little. Had to go easy on the filling b/c my first batch bubbled over. I did make these about a week in advance but they froze and reheated with no problem. The only turn-off for me was they were a tad bit greasy. (But who said it was a health food, right!?) Also tried this with turkey bacon and it wasn't as good. The turkey bacon added a sweet taste that just seemed to clash with the other flavors. Overall, these are worth the time and effort as a finger food. I will be saving this recipe but in the future, I will probably make them in a regular sized muffin tin.

Italian Sausage Soup

I was kinda disappointed with this recipe. It had a good flavor but nothing that really made it "stand out". I think I might be a bit biased though because it's the first recipe that I've gotten off this sight that received only mediocre reviews. Definatly play with it and tweak to suit your tastes.
