I'm a 24 year old woman who loves to cook for family and friends! I learned most of what I know from my Mother and the rest from experimenting. Cooking is a passionate hobby for me but my friends say I should make it a business. They are always drooling over my experiments.
My favorite things to cook
Broccoli Cheese Casserole, Appetizers, Oven Baked Meats, Beef Stew, Potatoes, Macaroni Cheese Casserole, Apple or Peach Dumplings, Cornish Hens, Homemade Soups, and Casseroles. I also enjoy preparing Mexican and Italian dishes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My MoM and I preparing two days in advance slicing and dicing for our yearly Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years Feast. Consisting of homemade cornbread dressing w/ chopped giblets and shredded chicken (out of this world), tender flavorful greens, buttery sweet candied yams, brown sugar honey baked ham among others. In recent years I have included my mouth watering homemade broccoli cheese casserole, and secret recipe roasted turkey. It’s always a wonderful celebration! My mother is the best cook I know and she tells me ALL of her secrets! People can’t get enough of our masterful dishes especially dad!
My cooking triumphs
Jambalaya for Christmas Eve 2006. It featured shrimp, chicken, sausage, and ham! As soon as people started tasting it the whole pot was empty. Even my little godson Jordan (in the featured photo) 3yrs at the time and his little brother loved it. They ate 2 bowls!
My cooking tragedies
The first time using my slow cooker I let chops simmer in mushroom soup and onions for 13 hours! They were mushy and way over cooked! Yuck I had to throw them out! Learned my lesson and now the slow cooker is my friend.
