Hobbies:
I'm an obsessive compulsive profressional homemaker. I love making my family's life easier and happier, and I take my job very seriously.
My favorite things to cook
Basmati rice, makes every nice.
Salmon, because it's nearly impossible to mess up.
Zerehsk Pallau, because little red berries and saffron make simple chicken and rice a celebration.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I try to cook at least 4 nights a week. I have two older daughters, one cooks with me, one does dishes with me. This lets me teach them as well as bond with them, and catch up on the events their day at school.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumphs are when I sereve a meal that pleases the whole family, I have a meat-and-potatoes-please-don't-ask-me-to-eat-vegetables husband who loves spices, a new eater (9 months) and 2 older girls who are practically vegetarians and don't like spices at all. So, that's not easy.
My cooking tragedies
I'm not so good at standnig still, so it took me about 10 years to figure out how not to burn dinner. I used to start a meal and then leave the kitchen to "get things done". Now, I stay in the kitchen and "get things done" right within stirring range of my pot. Works.
