Did not care for these at all. Way too much brown sugar....just did not care for the consistency of these cookies. Sorry, they are not the best I've ever eaten!

Boston Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Made this for my mom's birthday. Everyone seemed to enjoyed it. I think if I make it again I will use a 10 in. springform pan. I started with a 9 in. and used half of the cake mix, but if I had added the cheesecake mix, it would have overflowed, so used the second half of the cake mix in a 10 in. pan. Also will bake longer than 45 min., the cheesecake was not firm in the middle. Can't decide if I am crazy about the cake/cheesecake combo, but may give it another chance.

Cream Cheese Cookie Cups

Very good! I followed the suggestion to add cocoa powder to the filling, think it would be good either way! Ended up adding more powdered sugar than it called for, but that was because I used low-fat cream cheese.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

So thankful I found this recipe. I usually have the fixin's for homemade pizza on hand, but just don't have the time to make the crust. This will make a quick midweek meal so much easier! Thanks for the recipe!

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Good idea. When mixing them up I thought it was odd that they did not decrease the flour by 1/4 cup in the choc. part, since you add 1/4 cup cocoa. But I followed the recipe and baked the first few (after refrigerating both doughs for 1/2 hr) and the plain was clearly flattening out more than the choc. So added more flour and that helped a little. Will probably use my own choc. chip cookie recipe next time like others suggested.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I've been wondering where this recipe was...couldn't believe it wasn't on AR yet. I have used this a couple times and just love it. It is so easy and tastes sooo much better than the store bought fondant. The only thing I do differently is that I use vegetable shortening (Crisco) instead of melted butter to coat my hands and the counter when working with it, works wonders. Also this recipe comes out more ivory than white...so if you want a white fondant you can get the Wilton's Icing Color White-White (comes in a small 2 oz. bottle) to add to your fondant. Works wonders!

Sweetened Whipped Cream

This is so yummy! Love to mix this up quick in the KA for a beautiful topping for my cheesecakes. I have added a couple Tbsp. of raspberry sauce from the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake from this site...or a few tsp of cocoa for a chocolate chip one. Very versatile.

What was I thinking? I am not new to AR...why didn't I read the reviews to this!!! DEFINITELY read the reviews! This is a good recipe but needs some flavoring. My family enjoyed it the way it was, but next time I will follow the suggestions of those "most helpful" reviewers!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This recipe has been in my recipe box for over a year and I just got around to making it tonight --- what in the world was I waiting for!!! This soup was wonderful. I follwed the recipe except for a few minor details...I sauted the onions in a little butter and added some garlic before adding the potatoes, ham and chicken broth (oh, guess that was a change too, need to use it up). Like the idea of that another reviewer had to add a little shredded cheese before serving, might try that next time....there will definitely be a next time!

Waffle Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
This is my all-time favorite cookie!! I am always getting requests for them... they are "my signature cookies". My recipe is different only that I use 2 eggs instead of 4, so if you are short of eggs...I'm telling you they turn out awesome with 1/2 the eggs. I let them cool and top with a dollop of chocolate frosting - boil 6TB butter, 3/4 c sugar, 1/3 c milk for a minute, remove from heat and add 3/4 c chocolate chips, stir until thickened. You must try these cookies!!! Update for those having trouble getting the cookies off the waffle iron...you might want to give your waffle iron a spray of Pam before you drop the cookies on, after you make them a couple of times you won't need that. Also, I use a Pampered Chef cookie scoop and drop into each compartment. Have never put chocolate chips or nuts in them, I wouldn't suggest it though.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
These are one of my Christmas baking favorites! Only a few comments... the only way that this recipe yields 72 is if you make them bite sized...which I do quite often for my trays (I like to try a "little" of everything!). So I use the small Pampered Chef cookie scoop, follow the recipe except bake only 8 minutes...this gives them that chewy center that I like! Definitely a 5 star recipe!

Old Fashioned Giblet Stuffing

First time stuffing maker here...but no one would have known that by the way this recipe turned out! I did add some sage and thyme and about 1/2 cup more broth. Mom always added the giblets to her stuffing so was surprised when others found this unusual! Great recipe!

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This recipe saved me! Was making an impromtu Thanksgiving dinner for my family...my parents were moving the next day and no one wanted to take the time to make the traditional meal...so I offered. I made this the night before, stuck it in the crockpot and refrigerated overnight. Then about 5 hours before we were to eat, I put it on low. By meal time the potatoes were perfect! Don't think anyone would have known the difference, if I hadn't told them.

Classic Chocolate Cake with Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I can only rate the frosting as I needed some chocolate frosting for some cupcakes that I had made. This was perfect and turned out great! I did add a little more powdered sugar and milk until it was the consistency that I needed to pipe onto the cupcakes. The chocolate cake looks good and I am planning to try it out soon.

Brown Sugar Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
I was sad to see this recipe get low ratings, as it is one of our favorites! I make no changes except to make them into mini muffins (easier for mini mouths)...bake at 400 for 10 to 12 min. As long as you cream the brown sugar with the butter first before you add the milk it blends beautifully. I do sometimes top these with a little cinn. sugar or a powdered sugar/cinn glaze drizzled over top. These are awesome!

YUMMM! This is a keeper! Great summer drink...kind of a twist of my two favorite drinks...Tequila Sunrise and Amaretto Sour. I did make it over the rocks, just because I was too lazy to get the blender out and it was great.
