Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
These were great for being wheat. I sifted the flours and baking powder. I actually did drop biscuits and they turned out nicely. I do have to admit they have a bit of baking powder taste but put some jam and butter on them and they taste great!

Chicken and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
I think this is a great base for a potatoe soup. i would make this again. As with any soup you have to make it to your liking but before adding any other spices i tasted this as is and i must say for a simple soup it is good and great for those picky children. after I added some rosemary and lemon spice. i also added some minced garlic and I had some shredded zucchini and celery. My chicken had been bbq'd previously so I just took the chicken off the bone and it made for a quick and easy meal. thanks for sharing

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
fabulous! I took it to a potluck and it was a hit! I am making it today to take on a camping trip. I added a bit of milk to the ranch to make it a bit runnier and easier to coat the pasta. I also added some finely chopped onions to add to the many different flavors. we will definitely make it again. Instead of using mayo and dry ranch I just added ranch dressing.

Smoky Mountain Chipotle Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
Fabulous! Made it exactly as is- except forgot the red onion at the end. It is a recipe I will made again. The sauce was amazing. I doubled it and then made a gravy out of it to put over top of our baked potatoes. Thanks for sharing.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I used a bone in Pork Roast and the only complaint I have was the fat. So the second time I made this I put the fat side down for a few hours and then turned it over and skimmed the fat off. It turned out 100% better the second time and made great pulled pork sandwiches. we will make this again and again.

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I made this with ground beef and it was still amazing- I added corn to it last minute and the entire family loved it. I made it with wide egg noodles and it went over very well. We will make this again. I left out the red pepper flakes and added it to individual servings. Yummy!

Thai Spiced Barbecue Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
I thought this was fantastic. I was able to use curry powder instead of paste (1 tsp powder) I also used lime juice instead of lemon and I must say I was very impressed and so was my husband. He put it over fried rice and i put it over a sweet potatoe/yam. I double the sauce so I could have extra for gravy. i will make this again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I made these exactly as stated and they were delightful. I made mini muffins out o them and I got 24. I did it both ways and put the crumb topping on when I put them in the oven and also put it on 10 minutes before they were done and I do believe it is better to put it on before baking. I don't think it makes much of a difference. I will make these again. My kids ate them for breakfast. It was great and easy.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
For those that have given this a low rating i have to ask...are you sure its not just you. this is absolutely fabulous. I made it for my son's 8th bday with the chocolate icing found on the berry glazed chocolate cake recipe on this site. Everyone at the party (the adults especially) asked for the recipe. Most are not cake fans but even my dad said it was so good he finished the cake before his ice cream. I will make this over and over again--in fact I am making cupcakes today. MMMM! ***I forgot to add that we don't drink coffee so I used Mexican Stephens Hot Cocoa instead and it gave it a nice flavor- I imagine you could use any flavored hot chocolate and it would add a nice flavor. I also used 2 tsp of vanilla - I am sure you could use different flavoring too. I love this recipe. ADDITIONAL COMMENT: I have made this several times since my first time and was even asked to bring it to my sisters 30th birthday-her request. It is the best cake recipe- I make bundt cakes and sprinkle powdered sugar and I make mini bundts and cupcakes- time is a little over half the time as a cake- 20-25 minutes. they melt in your mouth. This time I didn't have milk so I added powdered with the dry and water with 1 tbsp vinegar. It was fabulous I won't make another.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

This was absolutely the best. We made it with bowtie pasta. I would definitely double the sauce if you want some for your pasta. I also added a dill blend. We loved it.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
We loved this soup- tasted even better the next day. I used bow tie pasta and added canned tomatoes. I also added garlic and some italian seasoning. It really needs you to add your own seasoning to taste. I also used canned vegetables- whatever your family will eat.

Bacon-Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This was actually pretty good. My kids all ate it and my husband enjoyed. I think it was lacking some kick- I had to add salsa and my husband added some hot sauce. Would i make it again...a variation of it. I actually used diced ham in place of bacon and added some sweet potatoe into the potatoes and I think i would add some peppers. Definately fresh onion. For the most part this was good

Barbecue Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I made this during the summer and forgot to rate it but I came back to find the recipe we liked it so much. I had the butcher slice the roast beef in the deli and then we made the sauce and let it marinate with the sliced beef overnight. We cooked it up in a frying pan and it was excellent- everyone raved about the flavors- we did it southern style and had cole slaw to put on top. MMM good! I am back to use the same recipe for shredded pork sandwiches.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I actually found a recipe for heavy cream- 1/3 cup melted and cooled butter + 3/4 cup milk= 1 cup heavy cream. I used that recipe and added a 1 1/2 TBSP cornstarch- This was excellent. My husband is raving still. i used mild italien sausage and omitted the red pepper so my kids would eat it. my husband put the flakes on top with some parm and loves it. He is still talking about it. My son had 3 bowls. Thank you for sharing. It really makes a difference to add the bow tie to the sauce what looks like grease is absorbed into the pasta and the flavor is fantastic. I also used canned tomoatoes and added italien seasoning into the sausage mixture to bring out the flavors.

I made this with no butter and it turned out great. i am giving this a 4 because of my own problems- I overcooked the potatoes. However, I added corn and carrots. i also used lemon rosemary blend spice because I know my kids do not like pepper. the sauce is fantastic.

Yummy! I loved them and so did my kids. I love using the wheat flour. what a great recipe. I give it a 4 because I like a little less preparation but I think next time i'll just use the drop roll method.
