Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Excellent, made them with a cookie scoop so they were all the same size and they came out a little larger than the recipe states. I didnt get as many, but they came out nice and uniform and I added some sprinkles to the warm chocolate. These also look nice in a mini cupocake paper. Definately a larger cookie. Loved it.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
Made these for fathers day with big giant lucious strawberries just picked. Washed and dried them and used milk choc chips and two tablespoons of shortening. Put them in the microwave for one minute. Took it out and whisked it and it was ready!!! they came out wonderful. used some Wilton White chips and melted them and made stripes with a toothpick. TIP: when melting chocolate it can never ever come in contact with water. make sure your bowl is dry, your whisk is dry and if you sample a lick, USE A New spoon!!! It will turn it rock hard and you cannot recover. Did over 30 HUGE ones and still had some left for banannas and grapes. EXCELLENT recipe. I have also used this to coat half a butter cookie and add sprinkles to the wet choc.

Rugelach

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I have tried many Rugelach recipes, this was the easiest and came out the best. One note, the rugelach is always rolled out in a sugar cinnamon mix never flour if rolled and turned once it is covered in sugar, it is no problem to roll out at all. Mine was never sticky I chilled for 24 hours. NEVER use table james or jellies for fillings, use Solo fillings which are specifically made to handle the hot temps of the ovens and they dont liquify as much. I used apricot and choc chips, I put nothing on top of them and they came out WONDERFUL. Company said they were stupendous, and when my company left and I finally went to have some for myself they were already gone. They lasted sbout 2 hours. Too much work to give out on platters but a nice treat for company or for family. Will truly make this again. Bakeries charges up to 7 or 8.00 a pound for these gourmet treats.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
I consider myself a cheesecake expert and this is the best cheesecake I have ever eaten, let alone not buying it in a 5 star restuarant, but making it myself. I followed the directions EXACTLY and it almost looks uncooked, when I took it out of the oven, but it was PERFECT! No cracks and you had the pull the fork through your mouth is was so creamy and rich!!! Make sure you really cover the pan with foil, because I had some water seep in, but truly it didnt matter. Will make this again and again as my ONLY cheesecake recipe! ADDITION: I made this for the second time and put a pan of boiling water on the rack UNDER the cheesecake AND IT CAME OUT PERFECT, no cracks no water and I left it sit in the oven for 5 hours~~~! THE PERFECT RECIPE!!

Totally Groovy Chocolate Fondue

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
This came out really well, I used about 6 TBS of heavy cream and used Kahula instead of what was listed. I cooked it on the stove until it was thin and then put it in the fondue. We dipped, marshmellows, fresh pineapple, strawberries. I used a hershey kiss fondue set (a christmas gift) and it actually was bubbling. You will need to stir it then.. it can burn a little in the middle. But I liked this recipe, next time I would use choc chip instead of semi sweet, that is a little over powering to eat and I love dark chocolate. next time I would use pretzels, apples and kiwi and I have heard cream cheese cubes are fabulous!!!

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
This was excellent. Didnt have a problem with it not cooking on the bottom, used a dark 9 x 13 pan sprayed with olive oil. Baked exactly as written.. Used cooked ham, salami, and swiss, and the roasted peppers. Will add the mozzerala and provolone next time. The egg batter didnt go far, so I used it all in the inside and then added one beaten egg with one Tablespoon of parm cheese for the top. It came out golden and puffed. Really nice!! let cool for about 25 minuted and then sliced perfectly. Nice for pot lucks and for company!!!

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I made 4 pitchers of this for christmas and it was a hit. I omitted the sugar. I added juices from pineapple chunks, cherry juice, I added oranges, limes and lemons. I used the triple sec and added ginger ale. It was great 2 and 3 days later. Made it again for New Years. the liquor store recommended Taylor Lake Country Red in a giant Jug and cheap. It worked really really well. will make this again and again.

Pizzelles II

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I am a first time user with a pizzelle maker, I got a Cuisinart on E Bay really cheap and thought I would start with this recipe. The recipe was so easy, I used butter instead of margargine and vanilla and a little lemon. the only problem was getting used to the parameters of the iron. But I did CHEAT, and use scissors to cut around the edges while they were still warm and this gave them nice crisp edges. I cooled on a cookie rack, the only way to get them perfectly flat and then sprinkled with confectioners sugar. My family loved them and I really liked the Pizzelle maker. It was easy to use and fun!!! will make them again! Any ideas for fillings??

Amish Macaroni Salad

A really excellent macaroni salad, just like the kind you pay 2.99 a pd for in the deli. Which is exactly what I was looking for. Slightly sweet.. really excellent, will make it again for the holidays.

Patriotic Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
This was really good, and the white jello was very tasty, but it just was so much work. I agree with the person who said to spoon it on VERY gently I had a couple blubs in my other layers. I used a Tupperware mold and It was too small , you really need something deep. the tupperwarre mold works well, because you can seperately unmold the center and it released the sides. But a second time I used a bowl mold and couldnt get it out, so I think Silicone might be a good idea also. Very tasty.... but alot of work, I do plan on making it again for Christmas!!

Party Pinwheels

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
I made these for a church function and everyone raved about them. I couldnt find the large tortillas so I used a 10 inch. It was hard to get them rolled tight and make them turn out round, but even as mishapen as they were everyone raved and I belong to a church of fantastic cooks. Ill make them again for sure. You can akso add all kinds of veggies, chopped cucumbers would be great in season.
