About this Cook
I have a wonderful life! I have the most amazing family, a wonderful boyfriend and the cutest puppy in the world. I work a fairly hectic schedule and really enjoy my line of work. Health and Happiness are extremely important to me, and I think that I reflect that in my cooking style. My boyfriend and I love to cook together (happy) and we try to keep the nutrients high and the sugars/calories/sodium low (health)!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking period - I most commonly cook stir fry or italian inspired dishes or grill. I love cooking healthy and body concious. I'm not much of a "measuring" person, I more eye-ball it. Probably why I'm not a huge fan of baking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dog Nala lingering around all the yummy smells! I have to say my favorite kitchen times are spent with my boyfriend, relaxing and having a glass of wine while cooking.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph is that about 6 years ago I barely knew where the kitchen was located! Then I started trying to cook, became a Food Network junkie and ta-da...............I can rock out some pretty tasty dishes now!! I can now follow almost any recipe, know most cooking techniques, make homemade pasta, flip an omelette in the air and even have a few original recipes of my own.
My cooking tragedies
Lol! My first attempt at cooking was a chicken fried steak (Mom's fave) and the grease caught on fire.....and I threw water on it. Oh yes, that was my solution. You all know how that goes! The other was probably a second or third attempt at cooking I tried chicken and spinach ravioli. A pretty gusto attempt for a person who doesn't know how to cook! I didn't realize you had to boil the noodles first so I stuffed the manicotti in crunchy hard shells and put them in the oven. It was horrible! I have to laugh thinking about it!

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa
This was really good! I added a little more onion and jalapeno, but all in all we really enjoyed it!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken
This was really, really good! I made it according to directions, however I used the hot "rooster" sauce. I will probably use less of that next time, as I don't want to have the fire hot spicy chicken that I ended up having. Nonetheless, it was very good!

Crabby Cream Cheese Wontons
These were pretty delicious! I added more cream cheese by suggestion on former reviews. I also used lowfat cream cheese and added pineapple tidbits inside as opposed to crab. I did not deep fry, but put a little oil in a pan and just crisped them. They turned out pretty good! Will do again!
