About this Cook
I'm a happily married, full time mom of a 5 year old girl and 1 year old boy. I love cooking and coming up with different variations to recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Pork, Chicken, Beef and Venison is always in my house. So it's just a matter of coming up with something that I didn't eat last week. I hate that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and dad are such inspirations to my cooking accomplishments. My mom make the best potatoes with cheese and a white cream sauce. I ask for that and fresh green beans on every occasion. My dad bakes the best cookies every Christmas and bbq'd the most awesome pork shoulder for easter. Oh yeah and my mom's deviled eggs are to die for, and you will die if you eat the last one at her house! Last easter we boiled crawfish. That was a cool tradition I wouldn't mind repeating. When's the next holiday? Mother's Day! Perfect, we'll get the guys to cook for the moms!
My cooking triumphs
I'll let you know, I'm workin on it!
My cooking tragedies
I voluntered myself to make jello shots for a friends birthday bash. Do you know where this is going? Well, I researched the ingredients and steps to follow and thought I had it figured out. Until I poured the jello powder into the heated liquor on the stove. Flambe! Well, they still turned out great. But, it scared me to death. I will not make them again without a kitchen buddy and my fire extinguisher near by just in case.....I'm a much better cook than bartender, I think....

Horseradish Deviled Eggs
I love the horseradish, but your forgetting a few dashes of tabasco and even a little ranch dressing kicks it up a bit. Otherwise, just like mom makes! That's how this Texas girl likes em!
