About this Cook
Full time employed as a Quality/Welding Specialist in the Offshore Fabrication Group. I sometimes work overseas but I am luckier than most, I am a woman and I can cook for myself because eating in other countries can some times be a big challenge. I can even cook in small plug in pans in a small Asian Hotels and be Happy. I have never been able to develope a taste for Asian Foods.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, Cookies, Pies, Main Course dishes and side dishes. I also love to cook a big breakfast.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Large Holiday Dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. American Style Turkey dinners with all of the trimmings.
My cooking triumphs
Great Fruit Pies, desserts in general. I taugh myself to cook because my Mom cannot cook. Also, learning how to find substitutes cooking items in foreign countries where I sometimes work. I planned and cooked a Thanksgiving Dinner for about 100 co-workers while in Korea. Six Turkeys!
My cooking tragedies
First Lemon Meringue pie I used a can of pie filling, a grahamn cracker crust and Cool Whip for the topping. Well Cool Whip does not brown well in the Oven. I had a big mess.I was 14 years old. When I was about 6 years old I made a mud pie with sugar, dirt and water and it was pretty nasty too.
