Cake Batter Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
Heavenly!!! I have made many other flavors of homemade ice cream but this is the best ever! It tastes just like the kind you get at the specialty ice creameries only better because it has that homemade taste going on. LOVE IT!!! I used all half and half for this recipe since I wanted to get rid of what I had left, I am sure that only added to its decadence. Thank you for this recipe!!!

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
Mine turned out good for a quick recipe. I should have cut the baking powder and salt in half. I used chia instead of eggs (1tbs chia seeds + 3 tbs water soaked for 10 minutes = 1 egg) and used vanilla rice milk rather then cow milk. I also used coconut oil and pink Himalayan salt, and a mix of white and wheat flour. I thought I followed the recipe exactly until I started typing this...LOL!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
I didnt have everything on hand, no spinach, no celery and no fresh herbs. This was still so yummy. But I am a soup lover! I made this a one pot dish by doing everything in...one pot. I sauted the veggies in the big pot that I used to make the soup, and at the end I just put the pasta right in with everyting else and let it cook there. I used all homemade veggie broth up front instead of the water called for. But aas it kept cooking I did need to add quit a bit of water, in order for this to have any broth. with as much veggies as it has in it. Great recipe!

Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
I would give this more stars if I could!!! Absolutely love this recipe. I used a 28 oz can of diced tomatoes, which I pulsed in my food processor a bit. Used about 4 cloves of garlic and omitted the wine (since I didn't have any.)Perfect!!! I am sure if you follow the directions exactly that it will still be perfect. I am not sure if this is an Italian or Cajun recipe but it reminds me so much of meals I had while living on the Northern coast of Italy. Thank you for sharing.

Pastry for Double Pie-Crust

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
This was a really decent pie crust and very easy to make. I used earth balance "buttery sticks" instead of shortening or butter. I added 1 tbs suger and made a double pie crust for apple pie. I will use this again.

This was just ok for me. A bit too sweet. I followed the recipe exactly. I think I would use it again...maybe, but I might add some lemon zest to the apples. I am not sure about this one. Just so so.

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
My family came to visit and I made these. My brother who is the pickiest eater I know said these were the BEST pancakes he ever had. My husband agreed with him. I toast the wheat germ in the oven for about 1o mins. The second time I made these I made a full recipe plus half. I added 2 bananas and 1/2 cup or so of chopped pecans. I just smooshed the bananas to a pulp and threw in the nuts. They were out of this world. Love them...Thanks for the recipe.

French Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
Super Easy and yummy!!! After two and a half years of being afraid to try to make crepes at home, I now am in disbelief at how easy it is! My mom gave us a crepe maker and we tried it, it was the worst thing ever. So frustrating. I cant beleive how easy it is to make crepes with a regular frying pan. I followed the recipe exactly and they taste just like the ones I have eatten in Paris. The way I made mine was to use a punch bowl spoon and poured it in the middle of the pan and quickly swirled the liquid around the pan (using the bottom of the spoon.) I filled mine with nutella, choped pecans, bananas, and whiped cream. Another time I chopped a green apple into about 12-16 slices and cooked them with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon until soft. Do try this recipe!!!
