About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom and wife. I find it very rewarding to create food that every one loves and enjoys. We only use all natural and organic products. Not only in what we eat but also for our household products and items like shampoo and toothpaste. I think it is very important to remove as many toxins from our environment as possible. Go green!
My favorite things to cook
New recipes. I love the excitment of trying new ingrediants and watching peoples expressions as they take their first bite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma use to come to visit and would make us fried mush. Now my mother makes it for us. Now I need to learn how to make it so that the tradition wont be lost.
My cooking triumphs
A lasagna recipe from Gourmet magazine a few years ago. It was a white sauce and had wild mushrooms. One of the hardest things I have made. Also I made a cake from a southern living recipe and this was one of the most difficult cakes I have ever made. Not to mention I had a two year old in my arms the majority of the time.
My cooking tragedies
I hate when I over cook anything. My husband told me about an hour and half before he needed them that he was to bring baked beans to a company picnic. So I rushed all over getting the ingrediants got home and made them. I needed a speedy way to do them so I started off by cooking them on the stove. Then at the last minute put them in a cassarole dish and put them in the oven. When I put them in the dish it was huge mistake. Because I had prepared so many beans and there was hardly enough room for them all. The next big catastrophy happened when I put that dish in my car and started to back out of the garage. They were going to go every were. So I stoped and get the original giant pot that I had cooked them in out and tried to put them back in it. Alot of it when on the garage floor. I barely made it to his work. I told him if no one ate the beans I didnt want to know about it and to wash the pot out and lie to me.

Cake Batter Ice Cream
Heavenly!!! I have made many other flavors of homemade ice cream but this is the best ever! It tastes just like the kind you get at the specialty ice creameries only better because it has that homemade taste going on. LOVE IT!!! I used all half and half for this recipe since I wanted to get rid of what I had left, I am sure that only added to its decadence. Thank you for this recipe!!!

Easy Pancakes
Mine turned out good for a quick recipe. I should have cut the baking powder and salt in half. I used chia instead of eggs (1tbs chia seeds + 3 tbs water soaked for 10 minutes = 1 egg) and used vanilla rice milk rather then cow milk. I also used coconut oil and pink Himalayan salt, and a mix of white and wheat flour. I thought I followed the recipe exactly until I started typing this...LOL!
