About this Cook
TI love to make meals that my family can celebrate around...the heart grows strong with good food, family and laughter!
My favorite things to cook
Lots of Mexican foods--my son's family is Hispanic and there's nothing more festive than tacos, sopa and a good margarita!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Down home comfort food. If you can't eat at my house and feel soothed, I haven't done my job!
My cooking triumphs
My original Spumoni Trifle. Spumoni is my favorite dessert and trifle is my unicorn...I made a Spumoni Trifle nfor my best friend's Thanksgiving Dinner and got rave reviews. Besides giving birth to my son and daughter, I've never been so proud!
My cooking tragedies
Broiling steaks for 40 minutes...thank God I was 19 with a smoking bod because those steaks were totalled.

Dad's Steak Rub
I would never have believed that maple syrup on a prime cut of steak would be delicious until now! My family acts like it's Christmas everytime there's a sale on ribeyes at the grocery store. Seriously. Thanks DAD!

Corn and Crab Bisque
Divine. I used imitation crabmeat and was very happy with the results (and lower grocery bill!) Served with a warm, crusty roll, it was a nice treat to myself!

Wild Rice Stuffing for Turkey
Totally awesome! I used an onion instead of a bell pepper and my picky 8-year old son ate HALF of the dish!!! Very tasty--finally, a different side dish besides mac & cheese!
