About this Cook
I'm a 24-year-old counselor, born and raised in New York City- home to the world's best restaurants and quite possibly the tiniest kitchens...in spite of this I love to cook and bake!
My favorite things to cook
I love Italian food so I cook a lot of that. I'm a semi-vegetarian, so while meat is the main course to appease my family, there's always a tasty pasta or potato side dish. I don't love baking, only because the recipes are so exact- I feel like there's no room to play around. But my extreme sweet tooth doesn't stop me from baking cookies and brownies...and cupcakes are soo much fun to decorate! So yeah, I bake on occasion too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just helping to cook for the huge family parties my mother throws year round (in addition to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter). Lots of food, plus lots of drinking, people, and laughter.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking style is kind of throw random spices/seasonings onto the meat or add whatever veggies I have to the pasta...more often than not loved ones can't stop eating whatever I put on the table, so I guess every day is a triumph? <-Sorry I know that's lame- I don't have any "I single-handedly cooked dinner for 30 people in 2 hours" stories.
My cooking tragedies
I'm one of those people who laughs at the petty things in life, like "tragedies" in the kitchen...lets just say I laugh a lot ;)

Onion Roasted Sweet Potatoes
My brother proclaimed, "I don't even eat yams and I can't stop eating these!", so that should speak for how delicious these were! I followed the recipe verbatim, just chopping half a small onion and throwing into the baking dish with the potatoes and mix. Thanks! =)

Butternut Squash Pizzas with Rosemary
I've been making a lot of squash since it's in season right now, and feeling very thankful to allrecipes for so many interesting recipes. This was awesome bf and I really enjoyed- I omitted the salt to taste and just used pepper. Really tasty~ thanks! :D
