My husband & I
About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, but unfortunately the world cannot live on cake and cookies alone :) I love experimenting with soups and trying to replicate recipes for things I enjoy in restaurants.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas treats has always been a family tradition. Everything from cookies and candy to prime rib to breakfast treats and the traditional Christmas dinner.
My cooking triumphs
My husband hates repetition, so anytime I make something he wants again within a week, I consider it a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
When I moved into our first house, I burnt nearly everything I cooked in the oven, come to find out the oven was cooking 55 degrees hotter than what it said!

Summer Lasagna
this recipe was great! i used skim ricotta in place of cottage cheese and mixed in some garlic & instead of two layers of zucchini, i compromised with my husband and added a middle layer of whole wheat lasagna noodles which soaked up the excess liquid. a little extra garlic flavor and this one is a keeper!

Butterscotch Cake I
i was skeptical when i mixed the cake (the batter was extremely thick) and very skeptical when i pulled it out of the oven (it's not a pretty cake, at least mine wasn't), but after I served it for my mother in laws birthday and got rave reviews i'm a fan. the texture is extremely moist but not crumbly and it tasted great. i left off the carmelized sugar and added butterscotch & dark chocolate chips for a contrast, and iced it with a light whipped topping

Pickled Red Beet Eggs
I love pickled red beets, but not with onions. Otherwise I'd give it five stars :)
