About this Cook
I love to cook at anytime, but I really love to cook for other people. The look on peoples' faces when they try something I just made up is worth the hour or two in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Ever since I was a kid, I hated tomatoes and wouldn't eat them on anything. Six months ago, I tried tomatoes again and discovered that I now love them. I attempt to make anything with tomatoes, and find that adding them to most things is possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to make brunch on Sunday mornings. I think this is the best meal of the week. Even if I don't get up until noon on Sunday, I still get around to making brunch eventually. And every good brunch needs a good mimosa!
My cooking triumphs
Southwestern eggs benedict! It's delicious, using fry bread instead of an English muffin, and seasoned chicken instead of canadian bacon. And adding pico de gailo and avacado on the top really sets this dish off.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken
This recipe tasted nothing like the jerk chicken I have previously eaten. The marinade wasn't really a marinade, more of a paste that just sat on top of the chicken. I used a food processor to make the marinade, but no matter how long I mixed it, the marinade remained chunky and unusable. This recipe isn't bad, it just isn't jerk chicken, and not worth the time and effort required.

Icelandic Pepper Cookies
These cookies are the best Christmas cookie I have ever made. Very simple to make, and make the whole house smell like Christmas. While I was making these, my neighbors came over to taste test and said they could smell them when they opened their front door. The recipe makes a lot of cookies so you will have plenty to share.
