About this Cook
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I have no children so my husband is the one to try new recipes. The kitchen is my home. With a degree in Family & Consumer Science, the most exciting and rewarding area is cooking and crafts.
My favorite things to cook
My most favorite category to cook from is cookies. With cookies, you have plenty for people to taste test. Also, I like to use recipes that require baking. While the food is cooking you can wash your prep dishes--makes clean-up much easier!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like to get out old family recipes. Good down home cooking is something I long for.
My cooking triumphs
Two years ago, I cooked for my entire family for Thanksgiving. There was so much food--it felt like being at grandma's house. We had ham and all the trimmings. My aunts and uncles were so amazed someone in the family was interested in cooking like grandma!
My cooking tragedies
Starting out in marriage you will always have failures. Seemingly, my failures include burning the dinner rolls, scorching the soup beans. Speaking of soup beans--I smashed the beans to prevent the gasy effect. My husband asked where the beans were, needless to say, from that point on, he wanted the beans. He tells that story to everyone!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
I baked the cookies for 14 minutes--this makes them really chewy.
