Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Really delicious. I had to add about a tablespoon of sugar to tone down the acidity of the tomatoes (which were probably not as yummy because they're out of season). Also followed other people's advice and sauteed two cloves garlic, 1 shallot, 1/4 c white wine, and 1 T butter until wine was reduced, then added to the simmering tomato mixture. I used fat free half n half in place of the whipping cream; and 1/3 c of butter instead of the 1/2 cup.

Sesame Green Beans

Soooo yummy, and so simple! The only change I made was to add a little soy sauce to the broth. I'm pretty sure they would have been just as delicious without it. Will definitely be making these again!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
These turned out great, but I had to give four stars instead of five because of the changes I had to make. Added pepper and seasoning salt, and baked for 35 minutes at 400 degrees.

Dill Vegetable Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This turned out great! I used fresh parsley, but that's pretty much the only changes I made. I think it would taste better if it sat for awhile, but it was still delicious. Dipped veggies in it, but also dipped the Baked French Fries from this site.

Garden Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
These were simple and delicious. Steamed the green beans instead of boiling, and skipped the water chestnuts (didn't have any on hand). I also forgot to put on the parmesan cheese. All in all, I think this would have been even better with the chestnuts and cheese. Yum!

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Delish! I served with Garden Green Beans and mashed potatoes. Substitutions: balsamic vinegar instead of white wine vinegar, and added 2 t soy sauce per another reviewer's recommendation. I think it would be 5 stars originally.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
Future in laws, fiance, and I all LOVED this cobbler! I would probably add more cornstarch next time since mine didn't thicken quite as much as I would have liked. I also did 1/2 teaspoon lime juice in addition to the teaspoon of lemon juice and it added a nice little tart at the end of every bite. Oh, and cinnamon and nutmeg in everything - the peach mixture, the batter mixture, and the topping. Yum!

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
Loved this recipe. I've been searching for one that wasn't overly sweet - I don't like Costco muffins, for example - and this was perfect! I made some changes, but I'm sure they'd be just as good per the recipe: - Sugar - I did 1/2 white, 1/2 brown - Milk - 3/4 cup, and 1/4 cup applesauce (for some apple flavor since I didn't have apples) - Added some cinnamon and nutmeg - Added about 3/4 cup frozen blueberries - sprinkled an oatmeal/brown sugar mixture on top before baking - Baked for 19 minutes at 350 degrees They turned out delicious AND pretty!

Dreamy Nighttime Drink

I love this, but it really is just flavored milk in the end. I doubled the honey, added extra vanilla, and put in pumpkin spice instead of cinnamon. Delicious!
