I didn't have a mom growing up so we never had holidays at home (or at all some years because we moved about every 6 months), since my dad couldn't cook. Now that we have our own children I love making excellent holiday dinners and goodies! i love new recipes and kid friendly activities. I have a hubby, 3 kids and one on the way, and 2 crazy dogs! I love chicken and could eat it a million ways. My hubby hates veggies so I have to get pretty creative because I don't want the kids to miss out on the vitamins and minerals veggies provide. Well that's hard because I didn't grow up with any family type recipes. I have been cooking since I was about 7 so I can make a mean red beans and rice, ha! The spicier the better, can you tell I grew up in the south? A whole holiday meal from scratch! I was so excited the first time I made homemade stuffing! Give me a few ingrediants and I can make anything. Yikes! How about the time I tried making fortune cookies and almost blew up the kitchen because I was very young and didn't realize the pilot light was out on the stove! And I couldn't make fudge to save my life!
