Amaretto Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
YUMMY! First attempt I felt you couldn't quite taste the Amaretto enough so I added a little more. Note: Don't try to replace the Sugar with artificial sweeteners... Doesn't too well.

Caramel Apple Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Yummy. Works well with No Sugar Added Apple Pie mix and Splenda (cut amount of sugar in half) for Diabetics. Cheesecake portion was a bit creamy rather than fluffy for me. But everyone loved it so I can't complain.

Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Everyone loved it. Made it for a Potluck and then my family forced me to make it again that weekend because there wasn't any left from work. Only suggestion is to add more Gravy. I doubled the amount in the recipe and it came out delicious. Not too moist and more importantly not too dry. If you can't find cubed turkey and don't have left overs. Foster farms (i think it was) carries uncooked Turkey Strips that you can cook before hand and work just as well.

Three Bean Slow Burn Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
My husband loved it. And that's saying alot because he loves his Spicy foods. Next time I may add some Sausage or Kielbasa though. It came out a little soupy. It was even better after it was refrigerated for a night though. Great on Sourdough Bread. Mmmm.

Delicious Apple Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
I too thought this recipe called for too much cinnamon and sugar. The first time I only barely reduced the sugar and cinnamon. This helped a bit but the cinnamon flavor was overwhelming the apple taste. So this time I had to increase to 12 apples so 6 times the recipe. I added 4 tsp Cinnamon (rather than 6) and 16 tsp (didn't have a TBSP available) of brown sugar. I also only added 6oz of water instead of the recommended amount. For the apples I used the "Zesting" side of the grater I believe it's called. This gave it the consistency of applesauce without having to use a blender. Side note: if not planning to serve warm... I left this in the fridge overnight to chill in the pan just to the right temp and consistency before putting it in containers. It came out great! Everyone loved it!

All Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
The number of servings sounds overwhelming but it really isn't... Keep in mind they consider a serving to be the amount you'd spread on 1 piece of bread. I tried cutting down on the number of servings the first time I made this and was sorely disappointed with the outcome amount since the apples shrink so much in the process. Awesome recipe though. It also works fine if the sugar is replaced with Splenda (I used the same amount of it as was called for of sugar) for those with Diabetic dinner guests.

Angel Food Cupcakes

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
I didn't have any problems with the temp but the Prepackaged 16oz Angel Food cake mix made ALOT more than 12 cupcakes. Helpful Hints: Use a REALLY big bowl because the mix expands like crazy. Give the mix some time to settle before putting it into the baking cups (otherwise you will get some with too much air and they come out looking like a deflated souffle They also tend to be rather delecate comming out of the pan. Serving Suggestion: I put whipped cream and sliced strawberrys ontop. Everyone loved them.

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
This recipe is awesome. Quick and easy. Even I loved them and I normally hate pork. A couple additions to the recipe, 1. I marinated the pork chops for about 5hours before cooking. 2. If you use boneless pork chops the recipe will cover 5-6 if not more. I had alot of extra marinade and I had 5 pieces (1lb) in there. We loved them so much I'm making them for Father's day. You also may want to check out the "Delicious Apple Sauce" recipe on this site to go along with it too.

Herb Turkey Rub

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
This made my turkey the softest/juciest turkey I've ever eaten. Only comments would be... Use gloves (my hands smelt like this rub for like a week, not that its a bad thing or anything). and make sure to use a smaller blender/food processor. I tried putting it in a normal blender and there wasn't enough mix to get up over the blades. But the recipe itself came out AWESOME! Everyone loved it.
