I am 35 yrs old I have two wonderful kids 16 and 9 yrs old I love to cook travel fish camp gardening canning drawing reading and most of all being with my kids.
My favorite things to cook
I am a terrific Mexican cook!! I love the culture, the food, the music and the people. I love cooking with fresh fruits and vegetables. Italian food would be my second favorite food. I love homemade sauces and breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from the south and southern cookin is soooo good. I love the rich gravy and homemade buttermilk biscuits. My mom always made fresh cakes and pies. I myself am not a baker but I sure love the cornbread we used to have with syrup in the mornings
My cooking triumphs
I had never made homemade tamales before...so a friend offered me help in doing so. Tamales take work and time. I ended up making 50 tamales and they turned out excellant. I shared them with friends and family and ate a few too.
My cooking tragedies
I was alittle girl probably about 10 yrs old and was so excited my mom was going to let me make sugar cookies for my family. I ended up making them. I was so embarassed I put 1 cup of baking soda in instead of 1 teaspoon. Needless to say everyone ate one and thanked me anyhow.
