About this Cook
Hi I am a proud Mama of four sweet babies, My twins are 6 , my son is 3 and my newest little sweet girl is 2 months. I have been married to my best friend for about nine years. He is from Iraq and that challenged me to learn how to cook. He taught me the basics and now I can hold my own!!
My favorite things to cook
I ove to make special dinners for each member of the family. So whetever is the special ocassion. That person gets to choose there menu. I am like most Mamas, I love to see my family feel special. That is why I enjoy cooking/baking so much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When we cook for our family we cook so much. We sit on the floor in a cirlce and enkoy the tasty food and enjoy each others company. In the middle eastern culture you always make sure people feel that you have enough food. You always serve your guests first, and make sure they have plenty.
My cooking tragedies
I have so many. I will keep those to myself for now. I would go on for ever and ever. I make mistakes all of the time. That is how I learn.

Black Walnut Pound Cake
We love this cake. It is so moist. I usually put a glaze, but no need. It never lasts very long in the house and super easy to make. I use regular walnuts and add black walnut flavoring to the cake as well as the glaze.

Refried Beans Without the Refry
I used the crock pot. I used a can of roasted green chilies and some veggie broth with water. This will be the new bean staple in the house. Loved it!

Apple Cole Slaw
I made this for a party. I doubled it and I also used packaged cabbage. I also used Walla Walla sweet onions. I made the night before and it was wonderful. None left!! Mine was not watery at all. Some liquid but it was thicker than water. So yummy, will make again. Great salad!!!
