I'm pretty laid back and would much rather play in my craft room or read than do housework! Anything that is quick and easy. Or anything where I can "set it & forget it". My crockpot & I have a very special relationship. Basically I'm a lazy cook. If it involves a lot of prep work or lots of different ingredients, I'm usually not interested. I also enjoy baking sweets during the holidays. Eggs. My folks ate a lot of eggs. Omlets, scrambled egg sandwiches, & "egg in a basket". Christmas dinner 2006. Classic beef roast with all the trimmings. My immediate family, my parents, and my inlaws. Everything was delicious & NO mishaps. It would have to be my infamous hockey puck meat loaf. I was learning about microwave cooking & had a recipe for meatloaf. Things were going great! It was almost done, but need just about another minute. Instead of entering 60 seconds, I entered 60 minutes & walked away. I was depending on the bell to tell me when it was done. About 30 minutes later, I realized that it was still cooking. I pulled it out of the microwave all sizzling & bubbling. I flipped it out onto a cutting board & attempted to slice it. Ha! I believe I would have dulled a radial saw with it! It was so hard, the dog wouldn't even touch it.
