Cookie in a Jar

Sorry, these just didn't have enough taste. I added a teaspoon of vanilla, should have added more. With the baking powder in them, they turn out like a biscuit, had to flatten them with a glass.

These are so good! Beautiful cookies, too! There is something a bit strong(maybe cloves?)in the cookie, will cut down on it next time. Did half butter, half shortening(always love the texture of these cookies). The strong spice taste still didn't take away any stars for me!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Sorry, I didn't think these were that good, just ok. The cookie dough was not chocolatey enough and they were missing something, salt, no salt? Mine turned out a little dry, also. The recipe was hard to follow(not in correct order, was afraid I would miss something).

Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

I knocked off one star, because of these cookies being dry. Otherwise, they were great tasting. I like this type of thing in the morning(not a eggs, bacon or cereal person) and these are a way of getting my protein. Will try to tweak this recipe, since I like it so much.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Hate to be the downer on this recipe, but didn't care for all the taco seasoning(it talked back to me!). Maybe use half the envelope? We still prefer the skinny tortilla soup from Light N Tasty.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Sorry, did not think these were that great. Mine were slightly dry and crumbly(maybe too much oats?), had to flatten them with a fork or they look like drop biscuits. We prefer the Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies, from Michele, on this website, uses less oats,more baking soda,no spices or raisins(I always throw in chocolate chips!).

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Sorry, I didn't think this was the best trifle I've made. The pudding mixture was too thick, had to use milk to thin it. I like kiwi, but thought it was too tart it it. Still prefer the Angel Berry Trifle from Light and Tasty(pudding mixture is vanilla pudding, milk, vanilla yogurt, sour cream & cream cheese, whipped cream is a separate layer,layer with angel food cake and berries).

Playgroup Granola Bars

Had great taste, but turned out dry and hard. There was a prominent flavor that I wasn't crazy about at first, I think it was the honey. I added chopped almonds, peanut butter and substituted chocolate chips for raisins. Would be better with a little fine tuning.

Chocolate Peanut Bars

I was going to submit this recipe, but found it was already here(I get Light n Tasty and Simple & Delicious magazines). These are soooo good! They are deadly, I have no will power, when they are around. I always have yellow cake on hand, so I use it instead of white. Also, I just sprinkle chocolate chips on top, I omit the nuts(figure they have enough nutty taste in the crust and cream cheese layer). If you are a chocolate, peanut butter lover, these are for you.

Vegetarian Tortilla Soup

This was ok, not a vegetarian, maybe that makes a difference? I prefer the skinny tortilla soup from Light & Tasty (which can be made vegetarian).

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

We didn't think these were exceptional. Good flavor though. My hubby doesn't like "cakey" cookies, and these were. Dough was very stiff, cookies looked like biscuits(maybe less flour?). The toll house recipe has the same amount of flour, but does not have the dry pudding mix in it, they flatten out.

Ok, maybe I overcooked my bird a little, but I figured with all the liquid it wouldn't get dried out, wrong! I did have just a turkey breast and cooked it breast down, I don't know what happened...

Easy Pumpkin Cream Trifle

I did not make this exact recipe, but the one with butterscotch pudding and gingerbread cake from quickcooking.com. Oh my god! It was the best new recipe I made at Thanksgiving! There was another Pumpkin trifle, like this one, that I will try, too. I'm sure this one is just as delicious! I wanted to lick the bowl clean and didn't want to give up leftovers.
